I watch very little tv, and it's beginning to become a real social obstacle. Anyone else feeling left out of the pop culture bubble? Watching dvd movies do count as tv time, so add them up too

I watch a lot of history channel stuff so I'm still left out of pop culture. A few of my friends do watch Adult Swim on Comedy Central so I have that, but not at work. I dont watch the cool shows

Probably the main reason I watch so little tv is because I hate reality shows. I have no interest in them. As far tv dramas, I always figure I'll just rent them on dvd, but never get around to it.

We watch the morning news for about an hour and then it's hit or miss as to what if anything I watch.Usually the History/Biography/SciFi channels and CSI on Thursdays.

Now that football and NCAA basketball are over, the only TV I watch is the occasional Iron Chef. Probably less than 2 hours a week total.
I'll stay happily outside the pop-culture bubble, thanks.

I picked 1 to 5 because there's no "I haven't watched TV in weeks" option.
I watch DVD's fairly often, but I almost never watch TV.

Your poll needs to add a zero option - I voted 1-5 as being the closest.

I haven’t watched TV aside from the occasional DVD since I’ve been at college. So about negative 8 months…

I barely watch TV at all, maybe 2 hours a week max. TV is becoming more and more of a waste of time in my opinion.

There should be a 'less than 1' option.

Definitely should be a "zero" option. I don't watch TV--haven't watched any show in over a year.

Don't get cable, and I can't receive anything without an antenna.

I have tivo, so the quality of my viewing time is VERY HIGH, I watch Television an hour before I go to bed each night, I dont think that is too much. Right now I watch just a few shows...
CSI (the wife) LOST The Shield (amazing this season) American Chopper ( no idea why I love this show )

TiVo ruined my TV watching. It started logically enough. I stopped caring when shows were on - after all TiVo would have it for me! However the creep got longer and longer between when it did air and when I watched it. Sometimes I would have 5-8 episodes TiVoed before I bothered to watch them.
Then it happened. I realized not only didn't I care if I watched the shows for 5 weeks, I didn't even care if I ever watched them. So more stuff started sitting on the TiVo, and then started gettting deleted from the TiVo to make room for more stuff I didn't bother to watch.
Now I maybe watch a couple hours a week, but generally only when the Mrs. wants to catch something.

1 hour of LOST is guaranteed. Otherwise, I check out the news here and there along with some cooking shows and the random episode of Friends on TBS and that's it. Unless I'm catching up on my TV shows on DVD which I'm doing now with FarScape. Then it's all-out.

I watch a lot of TV in a week. Shows that I definitely watch:
Mondays: 24 (1 hour) Tuesdays: Scrubs and The Office (1 hour) Wednesdays: Lost, Smallville and Alias (3 hours) Thursdays: Joey, Survivor, CSI, The O.C., Apprentice (4.5 hours) Sundays: Charmed, Desperate Housewives, Deadwood, Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad (4.5 hours)
So, that means at least 14 hours a week.

I chose the 6-10 hours option, but that's only because I watch most Chicago professional sports teams (except White Sox) when they're on tv. Even then, though, they're usually on in the background and I just watch them snippets of them.

If a baseball game is on TV while i'm in my dorm room, I'll be watching it. If you can't study with distractions, you shouldn't be in college.
