I just realized my computer not only has the ability to have RCA out audio jacks but also video as well.  I'd like to run cables from it to my stereo to play some mp3's and watch some videos.

How long can RCA cables get?  I'm basically going from one room to another so the distance is maybe 25-30 feet.  Is signal degradation a problem at that distance?  Do they even sell them that long?

Any help would be great.  Thanks!

From personal experience they're fine to a hundred feet. How much further than that, I'm not sure. I've had much less success with minijack cables, so if you're going from mini to RCA, have the RCA be the long cable.

Edit to correct myself after rereading your post: you'll definitely be fine, with RCA outs from the PC.

Actually its a mini-jack on the PC I have a splitter which connects it to regular RCA cables.  The RCA cables would definitely be the long ones.

Glad for the help!
