The color is definitely a love/hate thing. I love it, my wife hates it.

Yup, it was the first one the dealership got in and they hadn't even had time to prep it for the showroom before I got there to look at it/buy it.

Sometimes I miss a couple of the niceties of my old car like the automatic climate control and auto headlights, but then I drop down a gear to pass and forget all about that.

The stereo is a MP3 capable 6-disc in-dash... I can put pretty much my entire CD collection in there, that helps to make up for the climate control too. =)

Can ya tell I really like automatic climate control? Every car should have it!

Nice and congrats!  Getting a new car is always a rush.  I'm not a Mustang man (except Elenor), but I do like the new design.  The last one I thought was the 2nd worst only to the 80s models (one of which I had in high school).  Now you just need to get it painted a good color. slywink  Kidding of course, yellow is one of those love/hate colors.  What are the specs on it?  Did they up the engine for the redesign?

It's still the 4.6 liter, HP is bumped up to an even 300, 320 lb-ft. Still no 6 speed, but 5th gear is pretty long, running 2k at 70, so it's actually quiet on the highway.

The sound is the absolutely perfect mustang rumble.

No official 0-60 or 1/4 mile times yet that I have seen, the latest issue of Car and Driver has an article on it but they didn't do instrumented tests, I forget why.

It's fast, it's fun, it sounds great and it's a big difference from the luxury sport sedan I've been driving.

Did you get the multi-color dash lights?

I just saw one of these on the road yesterday (black, not yellow), and I have to say that's a good looking car.   They look like Mustangs again!  Good choice, coop, except the color slywink

Yah, it's pretty cool. Basically you have 5 different levels of Red Green and Blue you can cycle through with a half dozen or so preset colors. I probably spent a half hour playing with the colors last night trying to get jsut the right color. biggrin

Great!  You won't have problems finding it in the parking lot ... if it's still in the parking lot when you come out

I used to have a 68 fastback (white with two blue stripes over the top) kinda like a shelby knockoff.  I enjoyed the hell out of that car.

I wanted the fat double stripes down the middle, but the dealer didn't have them. I may get them put on later, still undecided.

Make sure to put lots of stickers on the car too, because every sticker gives a 10hp boost!  Yellow =  fast, and stickers = fast slywink

PS Your car was made less than 25 miles from where I live.  It used to be less than 10, but they moved the plant from Dearborn to a new one more southeast.  Flat Rock I believe.

Didn't you read my second post? I traded in the import with the whited out tail lights and oversized exhaust tip . slywink

I love the front but Im not impressed with the rest of it especially the rear. The car seems too plain and simple. Id love to have one though. i could really customize one. Give it a lot of the GT500's looks.

I like it, but in black.   Would love to get my hands on the Cobra.  God what a fun car.  I'd single handedly pay off the city debt though, so maybe it's better I don't have one.

Edit: If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for that GT?

I'm extremely jealous.

Don't get me wrong, I love my focus, but it isn't exactly a mustang.

The only way I could afford to pay for a mustang would be if I got the wussy-fied V6 version.

No thanks. That GT on the other hand..

I can't wait to see what the SVT group does to it in '06.

Not a mustang man myself.  I actually like the color, but that body looks like it's trying to be a mix between an old 280-Z and something out of Interstate '76.  It will probably grow on me though, just not yet.

Awesome car, coop!

Chances of me ever seeing one in Holland are slim to say the least, but it sure looks sexy.
And congrats on having the guts to pick yellow, which I have to say, looks extremely good on this car.

Well, that's the part that makes me think 280-Z (well, I guess the whole back end).  Hmmm....the front looks almost BMW-ish to me too.

It's a strange combination.  But in that color, I like it.

The new Mustang is a Mustang.

I'm sorry but this:

Never, ever, EVER, NEVER, said MUSTANG to me. Always seemed like a very girly car. Doesn't even look like a Mustang.

However the new Mustang does look and oozes (sp?) Mustang from every pore.

1969 Mustang:

1967 Mustang:

1966 Mustang:

Now here again is the new Mustang:

backend of that mustang looks a lot like the 66-67 mustang.

Looks like a Mustang to me, and I'm glad for got it right this time around.
