Yup, it's the Big Day.  I have to memorize how old I am now though, so that ought to tell you something!

And I got a midnight present last night - a digital camera, yahoo!  Now I'll have to learn how to use it is all...

I'm hoping for cash, checks, and EB gift cards to lower my national debt for Nov. 22.  So far, I have a $100 check from a b-day card... that, plus my own sad resources, and (hopefully) more b-day money - and I'll be in line at EB at midnight of the Really Big Day!    Geeze, I can't wait!

Anyone else born on Oct. 17?

Hey, all you folks are THE BEST!!! Thanks for all the super B-day wishes, cakes, pictures (except for that offer of Trebek!), et al....  There's some pretty funny stuff here, and nice, too!  To paraphrase Calvin, what would I have done without you?!  Tongue

Now, we can cut to the chase - the loot!  I got a Sony 5 megapixel camera, a nice case for it, a Logitech PS2 wireless controller, a new magazine from England named "360" - you guessed it, all XBox 360, lol, some clothes... and these two books, lol:

I also got grilled rib-eye steaks, roasted vegetables, Samuel Smith Pure-Brewed Lager... and real cake - Italian rum cake to be precise!  We passed on the champagne... saving it for the weekend and some shrimp cocktail.  AND - Wednesday's at "Holy Smokes" (a barbecue joint opened in a former church, lol) is when they do the whole hog... and I'm getting a roast pig dinner!  For my 50th birthday, I got a pig roast in my own back yard, so it's sort of a birthday anniversary thing.  I can't wait til tomorrow... then I'll go back to "can't wait"-ing for Oblivion!

THANKS AGAIN, ALL!!!

You'll have to tell me if that Holy Smokes place is any good.  I've driven by it a few times lately (trying to avoid some of the insane 91N traffic) and wondered what it was.

Will do, Markus!  We should be going tonight or next Wednesday.  It's supposed to be great, but the proof is in the grease dripping down your chin! :p
