Thanks for the feedback in the previous thread. I think we've narrowed it down to a couple of names. The name that we are thinking of is Souma (pronounced Soma). My wife likes it, I think it's fine, and most importantly it has the right number of strokes in the kanji (ridiculous superstition). For anyone who is curious, the kanji for Souma is:想真
The first kanji means "idea or think" and the second kanji means "truth or reality". I especially like the kanji because it's easy to write. The first kanji is made up of the kanji for tree, eye and heart (left, right, bottom) and the second kanji is made up of ten, eye, one, eight (top to bottom). All of this is super easy to write, I just need to remember the correct order.
One thing I want to make sure of is, can anyone think of any negative connotations to the word Soma in English? I happen to know that there is one but I'm just wondering how well known this might be. I actually kind of like the name because of it but my well-read sister is appalled. My 21 year old sister has no idea what it might refer to-kids these days.
Thanks for your opinions.
