You have no idea how much that means to me. Even if this is only temporary, that means a lot. Thank you.

Yeah, I gotta say, thanks for your offer to pick up the forum community if GG is in fact dead, Ron. That's a very kind offer!

Thanks from me too.
I have been online long enough to be a regular on more than one forum when it 'went west'(for whatever reason). This is one of the most pleasant resettlements I can ever remember, and the friendly reception we are getting is the reason. I'm used to messageboard refugees like me getting the 'sorry, no room at the inn' treatment, forcing us to scatter to the winds hoping that perhaps acceptance may be forthcoming if we travel alone. It's cool seeing almost everyone be able to immigrate together.

I'll add my voice and also say thanks to KD and the entire Console Gold community for helping to soften the blow of losing my favourite forum. Even if Gone Gold's loss is temporary, I will always be grateful for the graciousness and kindness shown here, and will be part of this forum for as long as it will have me.

I have to say thanks as well. I've only just begun reading the forums here, and it already seems like a reincarnation of GG.

I'll join in the sentiments (and the group hug) Even if GG comes back, I'll still stick around. Of course, it helps that I have an Xbox and a PS2...

Yeah tell me about it. I had just passed 2500 and I could see The Promised Land. Oh quit yer bitchin'. I was over 6000. Has Kelric shown up yet? He should be over 1000 here at CG by now, assuming he started Friday morning...

I registered here way back when they first re-modeled the site and still only have a mild # of posts.
I don't understand the drive for large post counts.
Weirdos.
Also, yes it feels like good old GG here, though I think it's always been a similiar experience anyway. Just more console-oriented.

Yeah, this seems like a great board. I'm very sad to see the GG Forums (appear to) go, but this could easily be a new home.

The high post count was all about getting the custom tag. I was about 1000 away still but was looking forward to hitting it someday

Never underestimate the drive a custom tag will give you. I miss my "Suicidal Sectoid" moniker. Also Kelric and Chris Grenard aren't here yet but i'm sure they'll pop up, they are on my MSN too so i'll make them show up. As well if anyone wanted Eduardo you'll find him in IRC.

You want heartbreaking? I was only about 80 posts away from getting a tag. Now I may never see "One of the T's is silent" under my user name. Whoa! Who the hell moved the sofa? I know the feeling (see my sig)

I was about 800 away from getting tag and even though it is a large number I felt I could have attained one by the new year.
Now pardon me while I just nap here in the middle of the room...

I just realized something- I LIKE being able to see the names of who is hanging out here, while I look over threads and figure out where I'm gonna post next.
I've turned it into a game, pick a name and try to match it to the next thread he/she will post in.

As a daily visitor to GG, I was disappointed to see that the site is down. It's nice to be here with so many of the great people from the GG forums. Don't forget the option to customize the site to the familiar black/gold combination. I appreciate the welcome here at Console Gold and the addition of PC information.

This site feels very much like GG, but without a Hardware help section and the infamous R&P section it won't be exactly the same. But as long as the regulars cross over it should still be a great community of mature posts, with videogames as the common theme. You can't beat that.
I had somewhere near 2000 posts over at GG and I'll definately miss that place if it's gone for good.
