Hey Folks,
Happy NFL Season. I know it started on Thursday, but whatever. I will suffer through another year of Bengals football. Hopefully you all do better. Now if you'll excuse me, it's about time to get on the couch!

I know that in the 90s the Bengals set a record for worse winning percentage in a decade for any professional sports franchise in history. So far the 2000s haven't been much better.

Cowboy's looked good. Texans looked awful. ESPN is felating Brady. I think they are advocating the canceling of the season out of respect to his injury...maybe all the players can wear a patch with his number on their uniforms until he comes back? LT (me) 11.20 points Turner (my opponent) 34.60 points Kinda funny, actually.

So as everyone was looking at Moss to see if he was touched before the fumble, someone in our section pointed to mid-field and said "Brady is still down!". Then there was silence.
At least the Eagles won and Chargers lost.
Go Bears tonight!!!

Are you kidding me? ESPN is salivating at the thought of Belichick going 4-12. Just the thought of an AFC Championship of Favre vs. Manning probably has them re-arranging the whole month of January. Trust me, nobody at ESPN, or anywhere else for that matter, would be sad to see the Patriots have an awful season.

What a terrific Carolina game. Just when I thought we'd snatch defeat from the jaws of victory as usual, Mr. Bojangles (Delhomme) actually pulls off the miracle. Dare I hope all that pre-season talk that we'll be a good team this year was indeed more than just talk?

Man the niners looked ugly with their 5 turnovers. Cardinals took over in the 2nd half.
There was a play where the Cardinals challenged the spot of the ball. The Refs reviewed and agreed that the ball was incorrectly placed. The Cardinals were still short from a first down after the ruling. Before the ruling, the Refs informed the viewers that if they lost the challenge they would lose a timeout.
Well they came back and said the ball was not spotted correctly but they were short on the first down and then docked them a TO.
I thought that was a bad call. They were not challenging the 1st down, they were challenge the spot of the ball. They won that challenge, thus they shouldn't have been charged a TO.
At the end it didn't matter, they kept the niners away from the ball for the 2nd half.

cassels pretty darn good. he had a terrible preseason, and there was one game last year where belichick pulled him after one series but a team could do a lot worse. they have a solid running game / short passing game with faulk incredible for the 3 - 7 yards and welker for the middle of the field slant stuff. and whoever is at quarterback can always toss the ball a yard or two over moss head and have him go up for it
that said - the STYLE of play youll see from the patriots is going to be what we in new england are used to. i hope this helps out the defense this year. seriously the defense must have felt like they were always on the field - the offense was just TOO good - when you can go down the field in about 3 or 4 minutes flat youre going to wear the hell out of your d. hopefully grinding the ball out on some serious drives is going to keep the d sharp and fresh a little bit longer. am i glad bradys out? hell no thats just stupid. do i think theyre going to be a sub 500 team? no way
today the defensive front looked better than any time last year, and its wicked nice to see sammy morris picking it right back up after going down early last year - if it werent for the superbowl, not being able to see what such a good looking player could bring to the team was probably my biggest regret of last year
oh yea and deltha oneil - im scared - he mugged a guy in the endzone and luckily didnt get the call - but what about next time... granted the guy he was "covering" had about 5 inches on him so really what are you going to do? let him walk in the endzone... but still hes not always going to get lucky on those calls

Wait, the Texans actually have fans? Sure, Why not? Not that I put a great amount of value on My Steelers beating the JV squad, but not all of the 38 points scored against the Texans are because the Texans may have thought they showed up to play cricket instead of football. The Steelers were a playoff team last year and have at least a decent shot at their division's title. The Texas QB just got rattled, and there may be a better QB out on the market somewhere for their future. They can turn it around, and they ran into a considerable team this week.

im so sorry gellar - if you move or something can you at least get a new nfl team? is this the karmic price you must pay for watching a team that was so good for so long in the '90s?
am i going to have to go through this again myself in ten or twenty years time?

All the fans at Lincoln Financial Field today (and fans at home for that matter) who cheered when Kevin Kolb came in to play when McNabb and Westbrook came out need to be castrated. What does McNabb have to do to impress fans in Philadelphia? I guess 297 yards and three touchdowns and 0 interceptions BEFORE HALFTIME isn't enough. And oh by the way his top 2 wideouts were out with injuries. I mean, seriously...sometimes I'm embarrassed to call myself an Eagles fan because I don't want to be lumped in with those morons.
Don't get me wrong...Kevin Kolb looks like a very capable successor to McNabb. But that's what he is, a successor...as long as McNabb's right arm and both legs are functional...I'll take him over most other QBs, except maybe Koy Detmer. But I think he shaved his neckbeard and is therefore dead to me.
