Geek Pride Day is an initiative to promote geek culture, celebrated on 25 May. The date was chosen as to commemorate the release of the first Star Wars film, A New Hope on 25 May 1977 (see Star Wars Day), but shares the same date as two other similar fan "holidays": Towel Day, for fans of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy by Douglas Adams, and the Glorious 25 May for fans of Terry Pratchett's Discworld.I really need to see these films again, not seen them since the 80's
Major Nelson's twitter pointed me to this,i wasn't aware of the day before
Unfortunately i am somewhat of an Inbetweener,i am not brainy enough to call myself a geek and not tough/butch enough to be considered a jock...but i do consider myself to lean to the Geek side the most, can that count???
