Yes, but you were stoned, and you're Not Alice.

This dress I'm wearing says otherwise, pal.

It saddens me when you don't pick up on movie references. Also, you really should shave before putting on pantyhose. Believe me, I don't need to be reminded of your mother.

Poor Hep just isn't with the times. Don't worry, the rest of us got the "Not Alice" reference.

And you will regret not shaving, that'll hurt like hell coming off. Probably less painful to just dip your hairy self in liquid latex.

6    Alice in Wonderland    $1,024,299,801    2010

i caught this on netflix one night while flipping through movies.  i was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

I didn't mind the film, but just surprised that it made over a Billion and is at number 6 of all time,i can't even remember it getting that big a buzz at the cinema,I remember The Dark Knight getting a lot of attention, and its behind Alice

Don't forget Alice had 3D, which means more expensive tickets.  That probably helped a bit.

Cheshire cat in 3D was nice.

Perhaps it would have helped Green Lantern.

I sincerely apologize for not having viewed every movie ever made in order to catch any obscure references to one of those films if it just so happens to drop into a discussion on an internet forum thread devoted to discussing Green Lantern.

I will issue a list of all the films I have seen at some future date so that we can avoid this gaffe ever happening again.  However, I will state that "On Golden Blonde" and "The Empire Gets Lucky" were seen well after I turned 18.  Also, I mistakenly thought Scary Movie was by the talented Wayan when I rented it.

Just in case you're not just being an ass, it was basically *the* movie responsible for this latest 3D resurgence.  For me, it has been the only movie I've seen in 3D since that resurgence.  It was cool, but I think it ruined me for all other 3D movies.

Tron: Legacy was actually quite stunning in 3D.  While 3D didn't necessarily "save" it, the imagery was pretty effing cool.

From what I've read it's going to take more than just 3D to even salvage Green Lantern.

Any time I can see Olivia Wilde pop out of the screen, I will buy a ticket.  It could've been a live action Where's Waldo and I still would've forked over the cash.

But yeah, the cinematography was rather neat.

And yeah, Green Lantern falls apart not because of the 3D, but because the story is just really weak (IMHO).

finally got to see this tonight.  not bad, but not outstanding either.  it'd have been cool if they had tried to do Emerald Dawn;  I've never read the series but looking over a synopsis of it it sounds like they probably wouldn't have had the budget for it though.

the blu ray also has a digital copy of the new Justice League #1, which I'll have to check out at some point.

CeeKay, did you watch the extended version?  I generally avoid those like the plague, but I have heard that it adds important details to the beginning of the film that gives the whole story more weight.

I did, but since I haven't seen the original I cannot say what the extra minutes add.  searching around it says it's mostly stuff to do with Hal Jordan's childhood:

Spoiler for Hiden:
the extended version of the movie starts out with a young Hal watching his dad fly a test plane and die, and then about 10 minutes later we're treated to flashbacks of the same sequence (albeit cut up for time) as Hal is in trouble while flying a plane.

I'll probably check out the theatrical cut at some point to see the difference.

I honestly doubt that the extended minutes as outline above would add anything to this film that makes it better.  It's like the Transformers of superhero films.  Sometimes I'll rethink a film after seeing it and having a bad reaction and I'll find something in it that I can honestly say I like.  With Green Lantern, the more I thought about it afterwards, the more I disliked it.

Reynolds can be moderately funny as a lead comic actor, but he just doesn't have the gravity required for Hal Jordan.  It doesn't help that I constantly confuse Dane Cook with Reynolds...

If a movie is bad, odds are good I've seen it.

That's probably where it came to my attention. And I'm all tingly about being your dear boy.
