Just curious as to how many people have an account with Goodreads.  It's kind of what I like to think of as a reader's Facebook although really all you are doing is keeping up on what your friends are reading, keeping track on your own read and backlogs and rating the books you have read.  I find it really handy for getting recommendations of the kinds of books that I like and there are all sorts of little things you can do like make or vote on 'Best of' lists, take part in or make your own reading quizzes and set up and keeping track of your yearly reading goals.  You can set it so that it's integrated with your Facebook timeline or you can keep it separate. I've found it very useful and I think it would complement our current "Books" thread very well. If you think this sounds good then you can check it out here: http://www.goodreads.com/

And if you do make an account or you already have one then feel free to add me.  This should be a link to my profile.  If you go to your profile then you should find a link to your own profile (just under your name and main details) and you can post it here and I'll add you to my friends.  I think most of us probably have a lot of similar reading interests so I'm looking forward to getting some good reading ideas.

I believe this is the link to become my friend.   I have to be honest I don't think I have finished a book since my kids were born so I am not the most interesting person to keep track of.

Here's my link. I use Goodreads to manage my To Read list, which is extensive.

Ok I added everyone to my list.  Finally I have some friends who actually update.  You wouldnt believe how many people I have on my list (including ATB Tongue) who have joined Goodreads and yet have never added a book.  Kind of boring.

Since it's the New Year I thought I'd give this a bump. If you have a resolution to read more they have a 2013 reading challenge. I'm going for 30 books this year.

Going for a conservative 24 books this year. If I can't beat that, something is wrong  icon_biggrin

You need to tell me if the Forge of Darkness is as good as his previous books! I LOVE the Book of the fallen series, but hated the flashbacks to Darkness.

Site won't update my stats!  crybaby

I read 22 books last year. Not 8!

I've updated them all to show read in 2012 but it still won't update. Perhaps it needs some time.

Yep, I was updating stuff today as well, and a bunch of titles took a bit to update.  Just wait a little and go back to the site

It's the new year again! Time for another bump! I blew through my annual goal of 30 books this year and probably would have set an unbreakable record (for myself) had it not been for a pretty busy December. Going to go for a goal of 35 this year.
