Heard a lot of buzz on eneloops and have given them a shot for my XB1 controllers as it seems to eat batteries faster than the 360 controller did.

So far so good.

That's got me thinking of maybe going all eneloops all the time.

Anyone using solely rechargeable batteries?

Any draw backs?

Are there any common devices (smoke detectors, flashlights, etc) that shouldn't use rechargeables?

I'm slowly migrating everything over to eneloops.

For something like a flashlight, go for the super duper eneloops, like these.

currently using the XB1 play and charge, but I used rechargables for the 360 and love it.  I keep 4 charging and 2 in at all times so downtime is very short.

I'll always use the play and charge or standalone charger if one exists, for other stuff I use the Duracell AA rechargeables. Drives me crazy when I have to put those wafer sized batteries in devices that would very easily fit a AA.

I love the official MS charger they had for 360, I wish they would come out with one for the xbone.

I'm a 100% rechargeable household.  Too many guitars, wiimotes, controllers, etc. to not.  Besides, it's better for the environment and my pocketbook.  smile

I love the way the PS3/PS4 does it, and never understood why the XBox didn't have something similar. It seemed such a step backwards.

Simple - battery size at the time of launch.  My custom controller from Evil Controllers uses a current-gen Kindle battery - it's flat as a board on the back and charges just like the XB1.

I wonder about the battery consumption...my controller is still using the same AA batteries from day one and I'm still getting full on the new meter on the dashboard.  Other people talk about replacing them every couple of weeks.  smile
