Let me know how it is. I have a morbid curiosity about this movie. My movie this weekend will most likely be Kung Fu Panda with the kids biggrin

Just make sure you wear a better outfit at this premiere, hepcat. This is what you were caught wearing at that Larry The Cable Guy movie you wanted to see so badly:

My wife and oldest daughter want to see it.  Me, not so much.

On a tangent, I'm currently reading ''By Way of Deception: A Devastating Insider's Portrait of the Mossad" which was written by an ex-Mossad agent.  He did not, as far as I can tell, become a hairdresser in the US.

jeebus, what in the hell am I wielding in that photo???  It's like a prop from a bad hentai film.

in other news, i just found out that one of the writers for Zohan is Judd Aptow.  That makes me feel a LITTLE less dirty...

After seeing the forum name "dback" I assumed that you are a fan of the Diamondbacks and may even live in Arizona.  I then checked your location and saw "Surprise, AZ".  I'm not sure why, but anytime I see the name "Surprise", whether it be on a document, on a map, or noted as the location where one of my techs is doing fieldwork, I always need to yell "SURPRISE!!!!!" rather than merely stating the town's name in a normal tone.  I can't seem to help myself.  Carry on.

I'm the same way with the word "Lambada".  Everytime I hear or see that word I have to add "The Forbidden Dance!" in a creepy ass tone.  Go figure....

I have a belief that every comdian has the potential to make me laugh.  Just like every band has the potential to make a good song (Ex. New Kids on the Block - Please Don't Go Girl).

I liked Sandler in The Waterboy and even though it seemed like a fluke, I'm willing to give Zohan a chance.

I'll go with ya, I been giggling at the previews for weeks.

Of course I have watched 'The Adventure of Ford Fairlane' twice since it's been free on demand the last month.

The cynic in me says that the previews are ALL the funny parts in the movie, and you'd be better off watching them over and over.

PS Ford Fairlane is a closet classic!

That's a chance you take with almost any movie nowadays.

I almost started a Ford Fairlane thread after my second viewing.  It had been soo long since I had seen it, it is  classic.

A grain of hope for Zohan:

I just read that It was (co) written by Judd Apatow, who hasn't even come close to writing anything as bad as the usual Sandler fare recently, so my odds of this movie actually being good just went up to maybe 75/80% (from about 5%).

35% with 99 reviews at Rotten Tomatoes.  Variety's reviewer didn't like it either.

god, i freakin' love drive-ins.  unfortunately the only one in my area i know of (chicago) is so friggin' dangerous that you're taking your life into your hands the moment you drive through the entrance.  I've always wanted to tour america's remaining drive-ins.  they really are a love of mine.

There is a drive-in in West Chicago called the Cascade Drive-in that my wife wants to go to.  That isn't the same one, is it?

I don't think so.  The one I was referring to is off Cicero near the Midway Airport.  I'm not even sure it's still open.  However, the one time I went to see films there it was like driving into a Crips vs. Bloods gathering.

The Cascade appears to be a good one.  I checked this site and it draws generally favorable reviews.  I may have to check it out myself.

edit:  ah, i found it.  looks i was referring to the Bel-Air Drive In and it's now gone.
