I am going nuts trying to find some gmail invite. Everyone I have come across has expired. Is it not possible to get an invite at the present time? Am I searching in vain? Are all those ebay invites expired also?

Thanks for all the invites. If I told you all the time I spent trying to pick up invites I would be ashamed. Thanks for making gmail a reality, and a good distractor from my 50 page paper.

On a funny note, I have never used the account for anything except some random emailings to friends while away from home (my webhosting's webmail bites) however I logged in for the first time in 2 weeks and found 26 Spam Messages. At least google was good enough to put the emails from the people they sold my address to directly to the spam box.

At least google was good enough to put the emails from the people they sold my address to directly to the spam box. i doubt Google had anything to do with the spam though. it's extremely common for spammers to used automated systems that send junk to thousands of address variations without actually knowing if any of them are real...some get through to real people, some don't. no matter how closely you guard your address, it's virtually impossible to keep a spammer for stumbling across it at some point :\ |

Gmail4troops finally sent me an address to send an invite to armed service personnel that can use them. Maybe this means more invites are needed, so anyone who offered some get ready for possible requests.
