Yep, next month the classic is returning to big screens in the US. Anyone else looking forward to catching it?

No, I've got it on Blu-Ray. I'll just watch it from my couch.

I think seeing it on the big screen again (I saw the original in a theater) would be a great trip down memory lane.  I'm in.

I'll pass, and I'm saying that as a person who ranks Ghostbusters in his Top 5 Comedies of All Time.

I've just seen it SOOO many times that I don't think seeing it in the theater would do anything but unnecessarily drain my wallet. If they were going to do some kind of crazy digital restoration or convert it to 3D or something I might consider it, but a straight transfer like I can watch at home? Pass.

But, but, but...comedies definitely work better with a crowd laughing.

Then avoid anything with the name Tyler Perry attached to it.

I heard they went back into the movie and made Slimer scream "NOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!" when they cross the streams.

I heard they digitally altered Ray's scenes to make it so he blinks.

Despite going to see the re-release of Lion King in 3D tonight I'm not planning to see the return of Ghostbusters.  I enjoy the film, but I've reached the point of almost seeing it too many times.  It's just not worth it to me seeing it on the big screen again (saw it as a kid as part of a double feature with Gremlins).

I heard they took out the proton packs and gave them flashlights.

JP is worth seeing on the big screen, and John Williams score makes it even more so.  I can still feel the whole theater vibrating from the THX showings of the film....

oh, wait, PR left the vibrator over.  never mind icon_twisted
