My funds transfer isn't going to happen guys. I logged into my bank account today only to discover a charge to some fucking prescriptions place in Isreal for $463.25.

So, instead of having a little extra cushion in my checking account to support my Christmas shopping, I have jack shit for money for probably the next couple of months.

I already disputed the charge, put a freeze on the card, and talked to a guy at Fifth Third's fraud department. They all sounded genuinely sorry that it happened, and the guy gave me another number to call tomorrow and he said they would help me try and get it straightened out.

Anyway, not only can I not finish my Christmas shopping (because i'm a last-minute type asshole), I don't even know if some of the internet purchases I made today are going to go through.

And the checking account is with Fifth Third, so I'm probably fucked.

I said it elsewhere already, but I'll say it again here. I'm feeling more than a little angry and shit on here.

It's one of those things you hear about happening to someone else, but you never expect it to happen to you.

If I'm lucky, I might be able to cover my car payment and my insurance next month.

Maybe.

So my apologies for promising money to what I thought was a good cause and then not coming through on it, but I don't have much choice right now. frown

It's okay, man.  You take care of yourself first, and it sucks that this happened to you.  I hope it all works out in the end.

Yeah, Thin - definitely take care of your problem first - sometimes you just have to!  Besides, Zarkon, and Our Gang here have pretty well guaranteed an "OMG Christmas" for his friend!  And it still is the thought that counts!  Tongue

Also, don't forget to report the fraud to your local police dept., cz if you have a chance of getting the money back, you'll need a copy of the report for the bank.  I had it happen to me (Romania!) - for only 90 bucks, thank goodness, but I totally understand what you're going through.  Good luck and keep after them!

Thanks Zark, re: the memory card... was pretty sure you wouldn't forget that, but at this time of year, with such a major project mixed in with the usual holiday stuff?  I figured I'd better check!

It's not too late, no.  A lot of the stuff won't show up until after Christmas anyway, so feel free to donate if you want. smile
