I stumbled onto the
Game Quest video series last weekend and ended up watching all 6 episodes (2.5 hours total) and being surprised at the overall quality. Basically, it's a documentary following the development of a game, the first season being Bongfish developing
Red Bull's Crashed Ice Kinect game for Microsoft.
I had zero interest in that game before starting the series, but really got interested in the show despite that. I did have a bit of interest in Bongfish due to their Stoked series and the fact that they're also working on the new Motocross Madness, though.
The series shows a pretty honest view of development from both publisher and developer points of view, with all the ups and downs, missed milestones, crunch stress and everything in between. Considering it seems to be created/sponsored by Red Bull they did a very good job of doing an actual honest documentary of development and minimizing reality show tropes (which I hate with a passion).
