Frop Attack!

I wanted to show my Frop Bog stuff here but not sure the ettiquette for repostings.  SHould I just link the thread on QT3, or repost it all in its entirety here?  A little pic of my little helpers on the Frop Bog  :

Post it here!  I don't go to QT3 often...also saw the video.....what the heck is a Frop?  Is that green thing a Frop (from the video)- it sounds like its got teeth!!

Edit: Though further research indicates it's most likely another term for frog (intentional misspelling or an inside joke of sorts?  Regional thing?).  Probably better than having the neighbors kids help you grow hallucinogenic drugs.

I lurk Qt3 from work sometimes. I believe it was a typo that sorta caught on. could be wrong though. It was a while ago.

Yeah, I saw that, but what I meant was that I came up with nothing animal-like.  Must be a meme of some sort, though how someone typoed frop for frog when the G and P are not really by each other is interesting.

When jpinard initially talked about making his frog bog he was...not feeling so well. He called it a frop bog and the name caught on there.

We have an ornamental pond in the back inhabited by frops. When we first moved in I was worried about mosquitos as well, but we've never had a problem. The frops are plenty good at keeping the mosquito population under control.

Bufu Toads

The Giant Toad (a.k.a. Marine Toad or Cane Toad) is the largest of the Florida frogs and toads. When this non-native species is threatened, it secretes a highly toxic milky substance from its large parotoid glands in the back of its head. This secretion will burn eyes, may inflame the skin, and can kill cats and dogs if they ingest it. Dogs and cats which bite Giant Toads die within a few hours.

Bufo marinus can grow to 9 inches in length and more than 2 pounds in weight. Giant Toads prefer developed areas, where they use man-made canals and ponds for spawning and gather under electric lights to feed on insects.

I live off a canal in FL, so we get these all the time. I also have a pointing/hunting dog, so it's not fun. He's big enough that he can withstand the poison as long as I get to him fast enough. More often then not, he'll just point at the toad rather than attack it.

Ezekiel reflected at this moment, thinking to himself, "Yeah, I may be in my 30's.  I may have no fashion sense.  I may have a lame blue hat.  But you know what?  They can make fun of me all they want.  For years they have picked on me and snickered behind my back,  But now, NOW I can hold my chin up a bit higher, because I'm gonna be famous.  They will all tell their friends they knew me before I became the first guy to munch rug on a huge-ass frog.  We'll see who's laughing when I start cashing checks in Hollywood.  OK, Lights, Camera...."
