I'm surprised, and kind of disappointed that nobody has posted about this yet. Today is Firefox 3's release.

Get it here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

I was trying to get it through the "Check for Updates" menu option but the update server has been hosed all afternoon.  Downloaded this one fine though, thanks.

Well, the memory leaks are supposed to be fixed, for one. The other is enhanced security and one-click bookmarking, and native OS look. I just installed it on my Dad's computer which has 2K and it looks different to mine which has XP, which again would look different to someone using Vista or MacOS.

Any other OS X users know if it uses the Keychain this time?  That's been my big sticking point with Firefox.

Well so far I like the improved look and toolbar, but my one annoyance is my middle mouse button thing has gone away.  You know, the thing where you click the scrollwheel and then you can scroll the page up or down by moving the mouse.  I miss it already frown

I'll be installing it on my MacBook in a few days and I'll let you know if someone doesn't before then.

Yeah, though that link is getting a lot more traffic than the other one, which is why I posted the other one. It was getting hammered and I couldn't access it.

Not sure if it's using Keychain, but it offered to remember a password in a built-in way on my MacBook...

Sure is nice-looking.  It's now easily replaced Camino for me, I think.

And stupidly changed the function of the website icon at the address bar. I used to be able to just click that icon in firefox (work the same way like IE) and it'll select the whole address line. Now clicking that icon show the info box on the website so I have to adapt to either click it twice or double click the address line. Not a big deal but why changed it?

I just click on the address and it auto highlights all of it. In windows anyway, in Linux it doesn't for some reason.

It is pretty fast, but then again I wasn't complaining about the speed of the old version (or IE for that matter).
Will have to see how it performs in terms of memory.

Yeah, speed is by far the biggest improvement IMO.  One thing I love is that they finally fixed the issue that even if you're saving something tiny like a JPG, the download window would still take a good few seconds to open and close.  Hooray!

Mozilla had a goal of 5 million for Download Day 2008.

Well they have shattered that goal. They're over 6.5 million now.

Yeah, I'm surprised that isn't in there anymore. I used that as a backup for when my All-In-One-Gestures plugin was behaving funky. Unfortunately AIOG doesn't have a new version (although all of my other plugins do), so now I'm missing both things.

Must find AIOG replacement...

Wait...you're talking about that? I meant the part when you pushed two buttons and it brought up a selectable window of what pages you've visited recently.

Oh, and already stated - Firefox 3 is WICKED fast!

I can confirm this too. I just got FF3 installed, and at first it said Adblock wasn't compatible, then it did a search and found an update for it and now Adblock is working fine in FF3.
