LttT. Didn't know about your son, Ken. It doesn't really compare, but I remember when my son had pneumonia when he was about 3 and how helpless it felt to see him that sick. Glad to hear things may be looking up.

I can say I understand how you feel. My first child was born with a congenital heart disease, "tetrology of Fallout". He started having open heart reconstructive surgery at two weeks old, and by the time he was 10 he'd had 5 more. We had him in Dallas, Tx, while I was there at school. But our coverage was from Canada. Thank God for Canadian health care.
He's a great young man now. 27 years old, had a reconstructive surgery last year, and he's healthy and happy.

But man, those first years in the intensive care unit was tough. It was taking a toll on our marriage as well. Decided to have more kids, we have two other healthy children now.

I know how you feel. Take time to rest. Take time to love each other. Pray and believe. God is there, trust me.

God Bless, and may His Grace be sufficient for you and yours. All the best to the little fighter. It puts metal in their spirit.

Mettle? smile Frankly, the definitions are pretty inspiring in themselves. I do agree though - one cannot be a fighter, without having to fight.

One does not appreciate what one has, unless it is at some point in jeopardy - which is where my love of Sean Connery stems - he has faced jeopardy with grit and determination. slywink

Ken - glad to see you guys made it out - got my ethereal fingers crossed that this challenge is behind you.
