You've just come home from a hard days work at the office and settle down to play a game/watch TV/a movie/listen to music - what do you grab to drink?
Myself - rum and coke on the rocks.

Finally found something where we think 100% differently. Bud Light, only thing I like about it is the Real Men of Genius commercials. I do love some Guinness though.

nothing like a nice cold glass of horse piss to shake off the stress from the work day, eh? Lately I've been liking Landshark Lager, but I've also been thinking about quitting drinking for awhile- been feeling a bit too ragged the morning after lately.

I rarely drink at home. If there happens to be beer in the fridge I might grab one, but I'm more likely to pour myself a glass of ice-water or a frosty glass of milk.

The darker, the better. I guess that's the "Northwest man" in me. Love a good stout or porter.
Second back-up drink is Session. Best beer non-tapped.
Third is just sitting at home w/ a Caucasian (props to who knows what movie that lingo is from).

Beer.
The variety depends on the season. Right now, I'm transitioning from brown ales to red ales and ESBs. When it gets hot out I'll drink IPAs and wheat beers. The brand varies with sale pricing and my mood. Last winter, Long Trail Ale was my go-to beer. Right now I'm fond of Sierra Nevada ESB and Newport Storm Spring Ale (although they're both too expensive to drink in quantity). In a couple of months I'll probably default to Harpoon IPA again, unless something better and cheaper comes along.
On sober nights, I drink seltzer. I don't like sober nights.

My drink of choice fluctuates between wine and beer. It depends on what we're having for dinner, what kind of mood I'm in, and what I have on hand. The other night I was jonesing for a Pinot, and so I decided to try a New Zealand Pinot I hadn't had before (normally I prefer Pinots from Oregon). When it comes to beer, it pretty much depends on my mood for the week. On any given day you could find any number of beers in my fridge, including a local brew, Kilt Lifter Ale from the Four Peaks Brewery in Tempe, Guinness, Sam Adams seasonals (lately it has been the White Ale), New Belgium Fat Tire, New Belgium Springboard, Dos Equis Amber, Negro Modelo, various beers from the Oak Creek Brewery in Sedona, Alaskan Amber, Landshark Lager, and numerous others I'm forgetting at the moment. Most of the time my drink of choice is a nice cold beer, but there are times when I just have to have a nice glass of red wine (typically a Pinot or Cabernet).

You don't say 'Rum and Coke on the rocks.' You don't get the prestige of 'on the rocks' unless you are drinking booze. Anyhoo... Amstel is my favorite beer these days. Pendleton ON THE ROCKS is my favorite booze. That stuff is tasty.

You will always be a Killian's Red drinker to me. smile I used to drink that stuff all the time simply because it was the first beer I ever had, and I was hesitant to branch out. Then I started making a point to try a new beer every time I hit a bar or went beer shopping and mine eyes were opened. I still buy Killian's from time to time because it's cheap. But it's no longer my "default" beer.

But it's no longer my "default" beer. Killians is swill, but it's on the high end of the swill scale. It will do as an emergency backup beer. I started drinking beer before there were any microbrews. The highest-end imports that we knew about were Tuborg and Heineken. The first beer I ever had would've been whatever my parents were buying, which means probably Blatz, Schlitz, Busch, Hamms, or Falstaff. My first regular brews were Pabst and Miller High Life. Once in a while I would splurge on Michelob. It is a miracle that I ever learned to like beer at all.

I end up drinking a lot of pabst just by default, because: a. it's definitely the official beer of every punk rock club ever, and b. when beer is free, I drink it.
It's not bad. Recently I've been drinking High Life in clubs that don't have anything good and will give you something other than PBR... it's easier on the digestion.

Beer with a little Meth sprinkled in for flavor. Alternatively, I use Crack Dust sometimes to mix it up a little.

On SNL Weekend Update last week they had a story about a couple of guys who robbed a beer truck and got away with $24,000 worth of Miller Lite. Seth Meyers: "$24,000 worth of Miller beer. What, did they steal ALL of it?"
As a cheap domestic beer hater, I laughed out loud.

I'll usually buy whatever porter or stout the store has that I haven't had before, though I don't drink much anymore so a six pack lasts me a long time.
At bars/shows, Guinness is usually a safe fallback if they don't have anything interesting. Failing that, I'll just drink water. Even when I play a show and get the choice of PBR or Bud/Miller Light for free I'll just give my free drinks to my gf and pay for something decent for myself.

When the Bride is away, I often enjoy a shot of scotch, straight up, with black beer and a cigar. Those are three great tastes that go great together. I'm not particular about the whiskey, but I do prefer Murphys for the stout.
My dental hygienist is appalled by this regimen.
