Theres 2 items I miss dearly.

1. McDonald's McDLT. A hot/cold burger you finished yourself. The bottom bun and meat was hot on one side of the container and the veggies and top on the other cool. They say it was dumped because of it's special styro container. Now the hot/cool thing wasn't a big deal and I could care less about it's container. The burger though had a very unique taste that no other McD burger has ever matched. It was special. I dont see why they cant bring it back in their current packaging.

2. Pizza Hut's Priazzo. That thing was massive! But again as with the McDLT, the taste was very unique to just it. I swear i could eat over half a one all by myself and I was just a kid. Damn tastey.

Those are just 2 examples of food items that were unique and the tastiest stuff either place offered and yet they still discontinued them frown Stupid fast food joints.

I think the McDLT died along with polystyrene clamshells. Paperboard doesn't have the insulating properties. Accursed environmentalists!

Carls Jr Sourdough Bacon Burger.  Puts Jack in the Box to shame.  Two sourdough buns, garlic butter, grilled onions, bacon, swiss cheese, grilled patty (not charbroiled like all of their other hamburgers).  Heaven!

Deep fried? When was that? I worked there in 86-88 and they weren't deep fried even then. Just frozen things you put in a warmer, the same as the ones you get today as far as I can tell. Not that I have ordered one.

And you can still get McRibs, they have always been a limited time thing they bring back once a year or so.

I worked there when we had McDLTs, they were barely ordered. Stupid idea anyway, who wants a stone cold tomato on their warm burger? It was just a whopper anyway.

these.  they officially replaced them in 92.  I worked at one breifly during High School in probably 89 or 90 and we still had them, plus the McRibs (which was indeed limited but I haven't seen back in a long time).  apparently they are making a small comeback though.

Another vote for McRibs.  Bringing them back once a year isn't enough, just make them a regular menu item already.

+1 to the apple pies.  The best substitute are the ones from Arby's.  Damn, those are good.

McRibs are McNasty, though.

I think my vote would be the sausage sub that Subway used to have back in the mid-80s.  Spicy Italian sausage in their normal meatball sauce, covered in cheese and hot.  It was really damn GOOD!

I forgot about those, and the way they used to cut their sandwiches on the top instead of on the side.  I also remember their BBQ beef being good, and for awhile they had hot dogs with chili....

The McD pies must be a place by place thing because mine has both apple and cherry ones.

Rodeo Cheesburger from BK. Haven't been to BK in forever so not sure if they brought them back but I know the last few times I went they were not on the menu. These were value cheeseburgers with BBQ sauce and onion rings. Loved those things.

Chilitos at Taco Bell.  I think they can go by the name Chili Cheese Burritos, but you also can't find them at just any Taco Bell.  Not that I ever really go to a Taco Bell.

I do share Daehawks' affection for the McDLT.   icon_biggrin Circa about 1985-1987, whenever I could take a break in the middle of my college class schedule, I'd sneak off campus for one.

I realize the gargantuan styrofoam packaging was horrific environmentally, but I still think (maybe I'm just a victim of ad slogans) that the "asssembled" burger tasted better than any other burger I've had at McDonald's, including the current 1/3 lb. Angus burgers (which I like OK).

Whataburger's A-1 Thick & Hearty Burger (less the grilled onions).  A-1 has apparently signed up with BK on the Steakhouse burger, which has the sauce with crispy onions and mayo!   puke  Either/or would be fine, but both is just wrong.  So it's unlikely that I'll see my A-1 Whataburger ever again.

Those angus pounders are good but the bun is awful. Have them trade it for a quarter pounder bun.

I remember when I was a kid we'd take those styrofoam pieces from McDonald food and make little sailboats out of them, then we'd launch them in a nearby creek to watch them sail away.

You like Mint 3 Musketeers.  Clearly, your tastebuds are off.  A-1 and mayo on a burger is a lovely combination, and a staple for me whenever I go to Five Guys.

Screw that.  I miss 49 and 59 cent burritos and tacos.  I also am darkly amused at how they took the 1/2 pound burritos and jumped the price almost 100% on 'em.

The Taco Bell Chili Cheese Burrito is indeed the remnant of the Chilito.  And yes, the Chilito is the single best thing Taco Bell ever came up with.  Nasty food, but just like Ramen, when you're hungry for it, it scratches the itch soooooo good.

$0.49 Chicken Littles at KFC.   Those were awesome.

Years later they replaced them with the Snacker which was almost not quite as good which served to somewhat scratch that itch.

However, the last three times I've had a Snacker they tasted like fish.  Blech!

There was some kind of Cajun Chicken and Rice wrap from Long John Silvers in the mid 90's that I loved, closest I've come to replacing it is the Volcano Burrito from Taco Bell.

I miss the Burger King 'burger bundles'.

They came in 3s and were tiny little burgers in a box. They were fun - I used to order them all the time when I was younger.
