I knew what this was before I clicked, and yet I still watched.

Its either the tarantula in blender with a banana to make a milkshake or involves those huge aggressive spiders that live on banana trees. Either way, I am not clicking.

Why would you let it finish?  That banana would go either straight into fire or out the front door!

I worked at a food plant for one day... one day slywink

Last thing they had me do on my 12 hour shift was unload a banana truck and it was horrible for a few reasons.  I wasn't in great shape and it required 2 people to move 1000 boxes weighing 40 pounds each in an hour for one.  We had to stack them on pallets over head high as well which wasn't fun either.  So as I was nearing completion of my 10 tons of banana moving by myself a spider the size of my face casually came out of one of the boxes and ran across my hand, arm and into the building from the truck.

The other guy unloading just said 'that's why we're wearing these gloves!' and kept working.  My shift ended shortly after and we were told that it was going to be a mandatory double and we'd have a break between.  24 hours of hard physical labor and giant spiders is not for me, I told them so and walked across the lot to a payphone and called the other company that had offered me a job the same day and accepted it after all.  Configuring computers was a much better gig.

As a child I watched the movie Jaws, and I didn't swim for a year. Watched the movie Alien, decided not to be an astronaut.  As an adult I was a combat diver and was too dumb to be an astronaut.
Now, I can't have a banana for a while frown

I watched it. That was so fake looking it didn't even bother me. Come on, do better than that.

Are you trying to convince yourself that it IS fake as in it could never happen or just that you think this particular video is fake.  Because it very much does happen that spiders hitch rides inside and around bananas to the US from South America

I'm not sure this video is real or fake, but it could very well be real since I didn't see anything obviously fake and the incident being filmed has been documented as happening.

The way the banana skin split open and the spider fell out looked like it was edited. Besides the fact that a banana skin is really thick and anything that small would have a hard time slicing through it like that.

Edit: a quick internet search says that spiders do not lay eggs in bananas, but on the outside.

Edit 2: Yep, fake.

Interesting, it didn't occur to me that it would be fake. I've never seen a spider in a banana, but it didn't seem out of the realm of possibility that a spider could get into a soft, rotting banana.

I didn't think it was laid inside the banana, but good catch on it being fake.  I just assumed it burrowed in.  FWIW spiders can make their way through a peel

My first thought was that it was fake as well, but the article doesn't really offer any proof that it isn't real.  It just mentions that the video's uploader is a visual effects artist.
