Is there a gamingtrend.com network set up? biggrin

I got dragged into this by my bro, and I gotta say it's pretty sweet.

Yeah I am on Facebook, a lot of my younger friends use it, so I got on there.

Good lord no. Its a site primarily used by (and created for) college kids for attention and/or to meet/hook up. So no-never this o myspace in a million years.

Actually, I've found that Facebook is good at helping people stay in touch with friends without all of the hook-up stuff that makes MySpace annoying.  A large group of my friends from graduate school stay in touch via Facebook and I have never once seen it used for hook-ups.  Considering the inability to significantly modify profile pages, it is also not the attention-whoring site that Myspace is.  So, I see where you're coming from, Calvin - I won't sign up for Myspace, either - but I think that Facebook is actually a useful tool for communicating with friends.

Yeah, same here... I've found a lot of old friends and kids I used to work with on facebook - it's a good "social networking" site, minus the constant barrage of spam/porn that's on myspace.

What's the upside?

Seriously, I find that LinkedIn is far better for this sort of thing.

I got duped into setting up a myspace profile, so that's plenty. Linked in hasn't done anything for me yet, but maybe someday my professional life will need to be there. Better safe than sorry.

I don't feel an urge to join facebook as well.

So did I...

I use LinkedIn for a more "Professional" network of Contacts.

I have a MySpace page, but only to try and figure out what the fuss is all about - but I totally despise the lack of design skills that most people have on there (and having music play when I hit a page is a pet peeve).

Facebook is nice, clean and the application platform they just announced is very slick.

Mine is pretty minimalist. It's not really my kind of thing. I suppose it stays up there for the single fact that I correspond with a few old classmates via it.

me too.  I accidentally deleted a good portion of my personal pictures so once I get around to taking some new ones I'll actually have a pic in my Facebook.

I cannot find the GT network. frown

Can someone give me directions? I'm new to this. I'm currently only in my own city's network; I don't know where the GT one was created.

It's not a network, but a Group.

Do a search in the Groups app for GamingTrend and you should find it and be able to join.

Next time I sign in I'll join... which may be in a month or so... not a big facebook person.  Usually only get on when extremely bored or someone sends me something.
