I just saw someone order this at Lux (Phoenix, AZ) and I think it could be all kinds of awesome:
1- 12oz bottle of Cane Sugar Dr. Pepper 2- Shots of Espresso Whipped Cream on top (optional)
Has anyone here had such a wonderful concoction before? I think I should try it tomorrow.

This, where do I get this. The original holdout before the current resurgence is in Dublin, TX. You can order from the store: $10 for a case of 12 oz cans, $16.50 for a case of 8 oz glass bottles. $5 shipping on each, but you can get two cases of cans in the same package.

Check Pop the Soda shop @ popsoda.com They're a shop in Scottsdale that has a lot of classic and cool odd sodas. They have free shipping in Phoenix, and can ship anywhere.

I think I remember Next ( http://nextcoffeecompany.com/) having some sort of soda/coffee combo last time I was in there. Might have to try it some time. But probably not, I don't really drink much soda anymore.

I may have told this story before, but a friend in college used to brew Magic Coffee. You make it in a regular drip coffeemaker with regular coffee, but instead of using water you use Dr. Pepper. The downside is that once your coffeemaker makes Magic Coffee, it will pretty much always make Magic Coffee. The same guy also used to eat spoonfuls of instant coffee to eliminate the pesky hot water middleman. He's a horror writer now.

I'm going to try and get this tonight before I go give a Cisco presentation. I'll definitely need the energy.

Cane sugar Dr Pepper is different from the throwback Dr. Pepper? Throwback Dr. P is okay, doesn't have the bite that HFCS Dr. P does, but this drink intrigues me.

They've always made a version with Cane Sugar. Some of the "throwback" sodas use real sugar rather than corn syrup, but they do often use beet sugar. Not that there's a huge amount of difference between them. I think that the cane sugar ones taste better.
I keep getting delayed (in a training class this week), but I will have to report on this as soon as I can get one. It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine. *SCHWING!*

Finally got enough time to go get one. Simply...awesome.
The first sip reminded me of one of those carbonated chocolate bars, that had the little bubbles in it. Almost like an egg creme with more chocolately flavor than milk. I think I may have to alternate this with my standard quad espresso order.
They call it a "Dr. Lux" (the coffeeshop named Lux). I'm going to go back and A) Ask them to make it with 4 shots next time and B) See if they'll name it the "Lux Capacitor"
