Thank you whiteboyskim!

Dawn of the Dead, Unrated Director's Cut for me. 9 extra minutes? I recall an interview from a few months ago that indicated this was supposed to have 25 extra minutes. What the crap? Will we never see that edition, or will we get a SUPER DUPER DIRECTOR'S CUT in 9 months? frown

THE THING!

Excellent movie. Too bad I absolutely refuse to buy a second copy of yet another movie because the movie studios can't release a good DVD THE FIRST TIME.

I've been double-dipped on four movies now, because they say "This is the only version we're making, and no you're never going to get these features", and then a year later there's a press-release saying they're going to include said features on a new version of the movie on DVD. Great.

I don't think ANYTHING burns me about the movie industry lately as much as this does.

The Thing
Dawn of the Dead
maybe Mulan

How's The OC?  I've heard good things about it but I don't know anyone who watches it.

There are two versions.  The theatrical release and an unrated version.  This movie looks like complete garbage.  Not even MST3K funny.

I agree. I've seen plenty of films that are unintentionally funny, but this has to be the first that is unintentionally creepy, while actually trying to be intentionally funny (and failing there too).

Speaking of which... MST3k Volume 6 was also released. My copy is still on the way.

So, what is the deal with this new version of The Thing?  I mean, I got the last version, and thought that was pretty nice, but if this one includes extra footage added in or something, I might get it again.

It is my second favorite movie of all time.  Right after the original Dawn of the Dead.  It has the best ending I have ever seen, as well as some of the best damn editing and pacing I've ever seen.

There's just some special features on it that weren't on the old disc. The box says remastered picture, but I haven't been able to find out if it's a new video transfer or if it's the same "remastered video" that was done for the old DVD.

I just dislike them releasing 5 versions of something on a dvd, with each one having one or two more things than the last.
