Since people seem to get off on usurping my duties as Resident DVD Hound, why not check out the below list to see what all is coming out? Alright, I'll spoil it for you - Jack and Crap. Hellboy: SE is going on the Christmas List, but that's about it. http://www.thedigitalbits.com/articles/upcomingart2.html

Au contraire. Tuesday brings the release of: Arrested Development (1st Season) Greg the Bunny Ed Wood SE Hellboy SE Van Helsing Stargate SG-1 Season 7 Wacky Races SCTV Volume 2 and maybe Dawn of the Dead (which is listed as 10/19 and 10/26 on various sites.) Plus a 7 pack of Godzilla films and Garfield the Movie. (cough). Oh, and Zombie Planet, which I've never heard of, but it's a zombie film! There's good stuff in there for everyone.

Hmmmm, "Intermezzo" with Ingrid Bergman interests me...only because I love her to pieces.
"Eyes Without a Face" intrigues me as well. An old, french black-and-white horror movie...looks interesting. If only I had 25 bucks to burn! Probably a rental here.
I remember wanting to see "Love Me If You Dare", so I'll rent that as well.
"Letting Go" is a movie from 1985 starring John Ritter...definite rental.

Ah yes, Arrested Development! I'll definitely be getting that. I'm on the fence with Hellboy. I picked it up when it first came out, so I'm not sure if I want to shell out more cash for the director's cut.

Collectors Hellboy? Does this include scenes that make it not suck?
Sorry but it was a bad movie. The final "boss" is a big blob thing? It can be destroyed with a few granades?
How come her clothes don't burn? How come when she fries the entire room of monster, the FBI agent lives?
etc., etc.
A ton of plot holes and a generally boring villian added up to a very dull movie.

The one title that stands out for me as a purchase is They Shoot Horses, Don't They? I saw that about a decade ago and loved it. There are a few other titles that I'm curious about but they aren't currently must haves.

Did you really expect it to be realistic and believable? I thought it was great fun to watch. I don't know if I'm going to grab the new DVD though, as that would be the third time this year I'd gotten double-dipped by the damned movie companies because I liked their movie enough to buy the first DVD they released.

I expected a good comic book movie. I loved the X-men movies, I loved the Spiderman movies, Blade - loved em (can't wait for the 3rd one!). However there are a lot of bad comic book movies (the punisher, daredevil for example) and I think Hellboy falls right into that catagory.

I am starting to really hate the double dipping thing. It is to the point where you need to check the internet with every release to see if there are rumors of a bigger/extra featured release in the future. I just saw on Amazon that there will be a Pirates of the Carribeanan (sp) Special Edition before Christmass. I bought that movie a year ago! Grrr....

I loved X-Men, Batman (the first one) and a bunch of other comic book movies, but I didn't care for Hellboy. What is the general concensus on Van Helsing?

(jaw drops to floor in disbelief) In other news, I think I'll buy the Hellboy special edition next year when it's on sale in the "2 for 20 bucks" sale that Best Buy throws all the time. I can't decide on the other stuff. I want: Second City T.V. Volume II Arrested Development Season 1 and Ed Wood But that's gonna set me back about a hundred smackers. Next week is GTA: San Andreas, as well. Oh, what SHOULD i do, fellow videophiles??

What is the general concensus on Van Helsing?
I hated Van Helsing, one of the worst movies I’ve sat through in theater. And this is coming from someone who really liked the first Mummy movie and thought the second was at least a fun diversion

I hated Van Helsing, one of the worst movies I’ve sat through in theater. And this is coming from someone who really liked the first Mummy movie and thought the second was at least a fun diversion That sums up my opinion. It was terrible, really really, really, really terrible. Or as Mr Cranky SaysSimply put, nothing is enough here, and it's like being force-fed rice cakes with a shovel. Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman) is no longer simply Dracula's nemesis: He's a fighter of all things evil in a story that reads like Sommers's dog chewed up a library of Evil Cliffs Notes and barfed up a script. Dracula (Richard Roxburgh) leads the chaos, but to recount the story in any way that makes sense would require about twenty more paragraphs and an abacus. Suffice it to say that if Van Helsing kills Dracula and a variety of minions including three female vampires, a werewolf, Count Chocula, and possibly Frankenstein's monster (Shuler Hensley), he will save Anna Valerious (Kate Beckinsale) from eternal purgatory and a role in "Underworld 2."

Yeah, let's just say that Kate Beckinsale's beauty is not enough to make me watch it again. And I'm single. And horny.
Perhaps a bit too much information there...
