Why is it that some movies and shows never get a US retail release, or if they do its so vapor thin that you can never find it?

For example:
Airwolf series - wide release in Europe, Ebay only here
Best of the Best - DVD is only released in Europe

Is the market more flexible there or is it just too saturated here?

If Manimal were to hit DVD in R4 only, then talk to me. smile

Actually I think Home Theater Forum and The Digital Bits (the two best DVD sources online, IMO) have talked about this and I think the consensus is they don't get it either. For example, Japan recently got some of the most killer packaging ever for the Alien saga - the case was literally an Alien head with a clear skull so you can see all the discs inside. There's also the R2-only Borg cube for the Star Trek series which was also gorgeous. smile

Why the bloody hell we don't get the cool packaging is beyond me. and don't point to the foamy Evil Dead SE packaging - that doesn't count at all.

Uhhh yea.....

So, with the Alien head?  And for kicks and giggles, here is the outage talking points:

"We are experiencing a disruption in our service at this time, but we're working to restore the service as quickly as possible. "
