Same company who made Alone n the dark and the upcoming Bloodrayne movie seems to be in pre-production for Dungeon Siege the movie. Just happened to be at their official site when I noticed it. No info at all really just that production starts summer of 05.

It will be a streamlined movie experience.

When you decide to see the movie, a car comes to your house, two burly men place you in a wheelchair and take you to the car.
You are promtly driven to the nearest theatre, wheeled in and handed a bucket of pre-chewed popcorn, which a nurse begins to spoonfeed you.
You will wake up back at your house, and probably not even remember what the movie was about.

Uwe Boll should be shot, killed, destroyed, whatever before he ruins the memories of every single game we have ever loved. Asshole.

Yes, but seeing as even Dungeon Siege's momma didn't love Dungeon Siege, I figure he's earned himself a short reprieve.

The script should take no more than a day or two.

I'd never been more disappointed in a game in my life. All the work I put into the Land of DS went down the tubes.

Intermitantly during the movie an usher will come by and stuff popcorn and drink down your throat and go to the bathroom for you.

Not sure of the source, but found this quoted on a message board today:

Quote
Cast details have been announced for the big screen adaptation of Gas Powered Games' PC hack-and-slasher Dungeon Siege, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

British actor Jason Statham, off of Snatch, Cellular and the rubbish Italian Job remake, will take on the leading role of Farmer. LeeLee Sobieski (Deep Impact) is signed up as Muriella, and John Rhys Davies - alias Gimli in Lord of the Rings - will play her sorcerer Dad.

Ron Perlman (Hellboy himself) is down as Farmer's mate Norick, and Matthew Lillard - Shaggy in the Scooby-Doo movies - will play Duke Fallow. Kristanna Loken (who's recently finished filming BloodRayne for the same director, Uwe Boll) will play Elora, a mystical tree-like creature who helps Farmer out.

Most 'excitingly' of all, Burt Reynolds - fresh from shooting Dukes of Hazzard in the role of Boss Hogg - will play King Konreid.

A $60 million budget has been earmarked for the movie and production is set to begin in Vancouver this Sunday, ending some time in September. Boll reckons the film will appeal to LotR fans - though he says it'll feature less CGI - and is estimating a running time of three hours. As we reported previously, the script has been written by David Freeman.

"This is a very dark, epic picture in the tradition of the Sergio Leone Westerns that blends the imaginative action of Hero and House of Flying Daggers," Boll told the Hollywood Reporter."

The storyline will follow the adventures of Farmer as he embarks on a quest to find his missing wife, Solana, and avenge his son - murdered by barbaric warriors the Krugs. Along the way he must make the transition from plain old pleb to heroic nobleman, and win the war between the dastardly Gallian and King Kongreid.

According to Boll, the movie will feature elements from Dungeon Siege II along with some from the first game. He also informs us that "Gas Powered Games is so excited about the film script that they want to do an expansion pack or full game based on the film."

Dungeon Siege is due out at the end of next summer, but before that you can look forward to BloodRayne some time early next year. Boll is also currently working on big screen adaptations of Far Cry, Fear Effect and Hunter: The Reckoning.

Dear God... three hours of an Uwe Boll film? Ladies and gentlemen, I think I've finally found a reason to envy the dead in Hell. Unless that's where the "test screenings" take place, in which case I'm tithing my ass off for the rest of my life.

I thought casting Ben Affleck and Hayden Christensen into a DS movie would be a good start.  They would also need a very bland annoying female to be the chemistry-less love interest.  It needs a female who can evoke a 'how the FUCK is she a celebrity?!?!?!", kinda like the two male leads would.

Maybe Paris Hilton?

  indeed.

And those are even some big (or used to be big) name actors.

I have to ask though, as somebody who never saw his previous 'movies' - how bad are his films? How bad can they be?

As well it should be.

My only question is will it approach "Dungeons and Dragons" or "Wing Commander" hideousness.

I'm voting "Yes!".

Rage.. hehe dude  Hola

How bad can a Uwe Boll movie be...?  Uh, there are no words in any language that can describe the badness of his films really.  The oddest thing is that people still give him money to make films.

And yes, Ray Liotta just joined the cast so....looks like there must be a lot of out of work actors out there.

Either that or a lot of bills to pay off. slywink Denis Leary spoke about what everyone was thinking while they were making "Operation Dumbo Drop" and he said they all just kept thinking about the houses they were buying/building and how good the money was they were making. biggrin

And I liked Far Cry too.  I don't think I've seen any of his movies, but if they are as bad as people say... well it's a shame.  Especially since this helps expand the precedent for bad game to movie translations.  I'd like to see a lot of games made into movies, and a lot could be done very very well, but only if treated as serious, mature material and not given a half assed attempt.  This reminds me to post a thread on the PC forum.
