I thought we had a thread for this

Anyway, its still happening, with both Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels

Quote
DUMB & DUMBER TO is back on again, and, according to Bobby Farrelly in his interview with Digital Spy, Jim Carrey has come back aboard, giving the Farrellys the green light to go ahead with the tales of Harry Dunne and Lloyd Christmas.

The script is finished, and, in having to schedule around Jeff Daniels' schedule for THE NEWSROOM, it looks like production may start in the spring for a fall 2013 release... but this will be the Farrellys' next movie period.

As for what type of road trip adventure Harry and Lloyd might be off on this time...

Quote
"I can tell you that there is no growth out of either one of them and it's 20 years later. What is funny about the original is that they're grown men who are complete losers and when the studio came to us about a sequel, we were like, 'Loads of kids are losers and they're dumb.' We didn't see any value in the sequel so we backed out of it, but now these guys are in regular life and they're still basically children at heart."

"The story revolves around the fact that one of them may have sired a child. They want to go and find the child because he's having a kidney problem and he wants to ask him for one of his kidneys."
I'm all for seeing Carrey and Daniels sink their teeth into some Farrelly brothers material once more. Another Carrey-Daniels road trip, with them encountering all sorts of characters discovering their stupidity and having it build to this meeting with the kid, which is a prime spot for a hilarious cameo of who would be the offspring of either one of them...? Count me in.

Another unnecessary sequel. But I'd still likely be IN.

First on is a classic IMO.  Sequel sounds great if maybe years later then it should have been.  Let's hope it's close to equal to the first and not a FLetch lives or Caddyshack 2.

The Farrelly brothers haven't made a good movie since the 90s; I'm not holding out much hope for this one.

The Three Stooges movie was better than I expected.  Of course, that may not have been saying much, but it was actually decent.

I actually liked Me,Myself and Irene(2000),Shallow Hal(2001) and Stuck On You(2003),I wouldn't say they were anywhere near as good as Dumb and Dumber,Kingpin or There's Something about Mary, but i still liked them

At work now so I haven't clicked the link but last night on Fallon they showed a trailer.
Suffice it to say that I laughed - in the trailer I saw there was an instance of them looking for diamonds under an old lady. There was talk of a turkey and giblets and some dust.
I'll remember that for quite some time to come.

From what I've heard, this is the same trailer.

I didn't.  I think those 20 years have just been too long, not into that humor at all.

Count me among the laughing crowd.  I was surprised at how easily I forgot about all that time, honestly.

I thought I might have moved past this type of humor, too, but the catheter thing had me guffaw.  The old lady thing was a little borderline, but in the end, I laughed.

Catheter made me laugh.  Rest of the trailer did not.  Dumb and Dumber was the only Jim carrey movie that I ever liked.

Looked like a lot of rehashing the original.

Might catch this on netflix.

Not bad. Has it really been 20 years? That means I was 14 for the original. At 34 it's not quite the same.

I hated Dumb and Dumber when it came out. Over the years I grew to love it. It's why I think I'll probably not like the sequel until 20 more years have passed.  icon_biggrin
