Movie 43 TrailerDirected by Elizabeth Banks Steven Brill Steve Carr Rusty Cundieff James Duffy Griffin Dunne Peter Farrelly Patrik Forsberg James Gunn Bob Odenkirk Brett Ratner Starring so many people, I can't even begin to list them. Just watch the trailer. This looks offensive and hilarious and hilariously offensive (but not offensively hilarious). EDIT: Good point, Rick. This is as NSFW as NSFW gets, I think. BTW, if the NSFW Offensive labels put you off, give it a try anyway. Somehow it works.

HOLY SHIT that was hilarious! You may want to advise that it's a very NSFW red band trailer.

Saw a preview for this before Django Unchained. The humor seemed to be of the Wayan brothers school of comedy. Maybe I'm just gunshy after enduring one of the Scary Movie films and about 10 minutes of Meet the Spartans, but I don't have ay desire to see this one based on the trailer.

forgot I already saw that trailer when this thread was first posted and forgot that I didn't laugh once... Same result when I watched it again, didn't find it funny at all.

I watched the general audience trailer recently. The red band one worked much better, IMO.

Tanked at the box office. And rightfully so if the 4 percent rating they got on Rottentomatoes.com is any indication. It couldn't even get the audience review beyond 40 percent...and that usually is just one guy from the production crew giving the film a 100 percent over and over again. Can we be hopeful that Hollywood now realizes that the avalanche of bad comedies like this, anything by the Wayan brothers, Martin Lawrence and the truly abysmal Friedberg/Seltzer team are not worth making? ...probably not.

I still think that first trailer looked funny (certainly compared to Wayans dreck- it reminded me more of Amazon Women on the Moon), and there were a lot of people working on it in front of and behind the camera that I like, but I haven't seen anything amusing since then. And you really can't argue with a 4%.

This type of movie was only watchable when Leslie Nielson was the lead. Somehow he was able to carry the movie.

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like I was insulting anyone's taste. I just have such a hatred of the Scary Movie franchise, all those damn Meet the Spartans/Date Movie/Epic Movie pieces of crap that anything that even remotely looks like one of them gets the full and unfettered force of my bile. Unfortunately, every trailer I was subjected to for this (first on the 'net then in the previews for other films) was progressively more awful. The Richard Gere iPod joke alone was enough to cause me to wish death on the writer. But I give the makers kudos for earning this great review tag line: "Movie 43" is the "Citizen Kane" of awful. p.s. years ago I touted a film called Dragon Wars based on a trailer I saw. Little did I know that that film actually made CGI dragons and giant monsters so painfully boring that I fell asleep 20 minutes into the movie...and during an "action" scene no less.

I think every movie star likes to think they can do comedy. The reality is that very few of them really can. This struck me as a vanity piece by a bunch of them.

Let's not short-change the movie - among the top critics it managed to get a whopping 7% rating!

Color me surprised. I thought I was the last person in America who doesn't like juvenile gross-out humor. Guess I didn't realize there's "good" juvenile gross-out humor and bad juvenile gross-out humor.

Is there a story behind this movie? Why are so many stars in it?
This piece of Hollywood crapola took 3 years to shoot and it was the brainchild of a producer named Ryan Kavanaugh, whose other producing credits include the excretable 'Skyline', the humongous flop 'Cowboys And Aliens', and the OMG-unfunny 'Land Of The Lost', amongst many other turds. The vast majority of actors who agreed to appear in the film are reportedly sorry they participated, according to Hollywood insider website Deadline.com

Proving that he knows exactly how PR works, the Farrelly Brothers respond via Twitter: To the critics: Movie 43 is not the end of the world. It's just a $6-million movie where we tried to do something different. Now back off.
To the critics: You always complain that Hollywood never gives you new stuff, and then when you get it, you flip out. Lighten up

I thought the ad campaign hamstrung an otherwise entertaining western.

If you mean the plot, it's a movie about making a movie about , about various short films.. I kind of liked it actually.. not all of the shorts, but quite a few. I went in looking for some cheap laughs and got just what I was expecting...
