As in:

"That shit is tight!"

or:

"Man, that game looks tight!"

I am not talking about the word "tight" meaning "Fixed or fastened firmly in place", I'm talking about "tight" being used instead of words like "cool", "neat" or "awesome."

Because if you do, I sort of hate you.

No sir.  I think this goes in the same basket as "That's hot".

Tight goes in the same category as dope, phat, off da hook, and bling.  I hate all of these words/phrases with a passion.

As a rule, no.  However, I do find such words exiting my lips occassionally for comedic emphasis.

Some bands are tight. Like James Brown's band. If they're not tight, he fucking fines them. FINES!

Now that I think about it I believe I have, but acknowledging you have a problem is the first step, right?

It's more commonly used by "the kids" but since I worked at GameStop until this year I picked up its use.  Not something I'm proud of.

I notice my clothes getting more tight as the years go on.  That's about the extent to how I use the word.

I'm so sick of hearing it.

I'm sick of everything kids say these days.  It's all just so tired.  We need innovation.  They are even bringing back the classics: "That was bananas," or,  "we were going bonkers."  Everything old is new again.  ARGH!

Three more days.

"That's hella tight!" = the worst sentence I've ever heard.

Nope, I just stick to the COOL words like, "awesome!", "sweet!", "kewlies!", or "coolio!"

What's wrong with the word "tight?"  Personally I don't like the word "neat."  I think anyone who uses the word "neat" isn't straight...  call it a pet peeve if you want.

At least tight is not as confusing to me as people who use word like shit or bomb.

Da shit = good but shit = bad?

Da bomb = good but bomb = bad?

I agree with Mr. TheMissingLink.  The word "tight" is a little too ghetto-theatrical for my taste.  I'll only use the word circumstantially, only in especially befitting situations, such as "her pussy was tight!"  Because then there's a duality to the meaning of my words, and it will leave the listener astonished and bewildered.

I always remember that one scene (I think it was Barber Shop) where someone is ripping on Kenny G, and everyone starts defending it, saying "his last album was tiiiiiiight!"
