I'd never be able to stop playing with the knife, and given the way I look, I'd be afraid of being arrested.

I was in NOVA two weeks ago and somehow got separated from my precious on the last day of the trip. After calls to the home office and my hotel, it has not showed up. I'm still crushed about it. Such a sad time indeed.

Schrade Old Timer! It locks open... it's not too big... infinitely useful... My dad gave it to me somewhere between 6 - 10 years ago and it hasn't left my pocket except to fly since. It's one of my favorite possessions... which might sound weird, but it is. Heh... my granddad had one of those. Used it to cut his toenails. Yeah, we're hicks.

These are pretty cool. If only work wasn't so afraid of people killing eachother around here that they get suspicious if you bring in a set of nail clippers I'd totally carry one of these. (True story - I was told to "take those home" as the file on the clippers could be used as a weapon)

I carry a knife like this in my truck clipped to the sun visor. Mainly in case I get in an accident and need to cut the seat belt to get out. The serrated blade is best for cutting seat belts. My wife, a former paramedic for twenty years, says it's not uncommon to need something like this in an accident.
That is exactly why I carry a small pocketknife - the Leatherman Micra, because I don't like a lot of junk in my pockets. Seatbelts rarely jam, but when they do, it is usually at a time you'd most want to be out of them. Must be human nature (the part where you think that will never happen to you!), but I happen to carry mine to get other people out of their safety belts, lol. The Micra may be very small, but it is razor sharp, and also has the other cool little bits that are helpful a zillion times a day. In our state, most blades that are spring-released, or sharpened on two edges are illegal, btw.
