Do women really think we listen to them all the time?

I mean we're in the middle of something important like fighting Diablo or something and we need all our concentration and your wife comes in and asks something that can't be too important or you'd smell the smoke and you answer with a grunt. This seems to satisfy them most of the time but I end up wondering how in the heck I got volunteered to help the neighbors move or agree to my in-laws visiting or something.
I've suggested writing it down for me to see later or record it on a tape recorder or, heaven forbid, ask me later when I'm not so occupied. That works once, if I'm lucky. :icon_confused:

I really suck at listening to my wife.

She comes in when we are in the middle of a game, says 3-4 things, walks away.  Then later something odd happens, or someone comes over I wasn't expecting, and she says "Well I asked you earlier, and you didn't seem to care"..  WTF?

I think we, as men, have this "Magical" button that allows us to completely tune out females, it is supposed to only be used for nagging and bitching times, but I think it trips almost all of the time.

My game room room is in the basement ( I have 3 floors ) so IF she needed me, or vice versa it was a pain. So I installed a handy dandy intercom system.

I get called every 12 minutes.

Mine expects me to hear her when I have my noise-reducing headphones on and usually when I'm in the middle of a nice fight in WoW.

And I can't hear shit even when I'm not wearing them.

She's awesome.

I'd kill for this thing.  Being partially deaf isn't as fun as it sounds.  I've been roped into WAY too much stuff because I didn't hear something properly.

I have a perfect skill for this: I can passively listen, then repeat what was said on request (and sometimes word for word).  It's a useful skill I developed over a lifetime of being asked "are you listening to me?". 

The true irony is that while I can do this, I wasn't actually listening.  Even more surprising is that a few girlfriends caught on to this ability.  Does anyone else have this super-power?
