I am guessing that the two films could intertwine as well
However,I am not looking forward to listening to more of a Kiwi voiced Boba Fett though(sorry New Zealanders)

who the hell would step into Han's shoes?
I would have said that even moreso for Obi Wan, but I thought Ewan McGregor did a fantastic job (despite all the other issues with the movies). plus they did find a young Indiana Jones

I was thinking the same about Han; who could play it better than 1970s Harrison Ford?! Obi-Wan at least could benefit from being much younger so a different actor would make sense. Han Solo will be basically the same age as when we met him in Ep4. It'll be Channing Tatum.

Disney officially confirm stand alone movies http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/star-wars/24730/disney-officially-confirms-standalone-star-wars-moviesThere's not much in the way of surprise here, given that there's been chat already about new standalone Star Wars films to run alongside the currently-planned Star Wars: Episodes VII to IX. But Disney has now officially confirmed that that's what it's up to.
The official word came at the firm's annual shareholder's meeting, which took place in Phoenix. And Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that the company is developing "some standalone movies" that will feature Star Wars characters.

Here's a quote from the man himself: Asked whether members of the original “Star Wars” cast will appear in “Episode VII” and if he called them before the deal closed to keep them informed, Lucas said, “We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison -- or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on.’” He pauses. “Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them.” Then he adds: “I won’t say whether the negotiations were successful or not.”

Hmm,Looks like i have fallen into one of those U.S Vs British spelling traps that i was unaware of
Probably because we're so darned scared of tits in this country. It was actually one I had never heard, either (I pride myself on knowing a lot of British English), so was genuinely curious if this was a British/American difference thing. I guess I could have just Googled it like you did.

Clone Wars winding down, Detours postponed: As we enter into an exciting new era focused on the next Star Wars trilogy, Lucasfilm has decided to pursue a new direction in animated programming. We are exploring a whole new Star Wars series set in a time period previously untouched in Star Wars films or television programming. You can expect more details in the months to come.

Meh. Most of the EU was shit anyway. Also, it's not exactly like George hadn't already ignored a huge chunk of EU material (not to mention his own) when he did the prequels.

Yeah, this is nothing new. The EU has always played second fiddle to the movie canon, and George Lucas has happily overridden the EU when he felt like it. The article linked to above seems hysteric and rambling, and makes certain logical mistakes (how does canceling The Clone Wars in any indicate that the EU is being discarded? And what does the Clone Wars cartoon have to do with the EU anyway? It's a step above that in the canon hierarchy). Too long has the EU been all about the characters seen in the previous movies, to the point where the entire thing has become a parody of itself. If some (or all) of it has to go, I certainly won't shed any tears.

I can't say i am thrilled about this, sure i want more Star Wars films, but not every year Disney to release a new Star Wars film every year from 2015Kotaku's last line made me smile At CinemaCon today, Disney revealed plans to release new Star Wars films each summer beginning in 2015. The plan isn't to go Episode VII, VIII, IX in three years but, rather, to run spinoff films in-between the major "episode releases" every two or three years.
Disney Will Be Making All Kinds Of Star Wars Spin-Offs We already knew that the newly minted Star Wars-owners at Disney are planning a new trilogy, the… Read… RQ This is consistent with earlier reports of plans for spinoff movies, plus reports that the next trilogy will pick up after 1983's Return of the Jedi. Disney's announcement meshes the two together rather definitively.
So there you have it: Star Wars will be an annual release from now on. No word on DLC plans.

As long as the quality is good, I don't see a problem with this. It was also part of the original news story when the purchase of Lucasfilm was first announced, but hey. There's plenty of room for new stories in the Star Wars universe, and it's not like we've been drowned in new quality material over these last 20 years.

Sounds like the Marvel plan. Episode movies = Avenger movie and spinoffs like Ironman, Thor, and C. America.
