Depends which Zakk we are talking about.
Book of Shadows/Pride & Glory Zakk FTW overall.

Dimebag/Pantera rocked much harder than BLS Zakk has so far, and BLS is getting worse by the album, IMHO.
Dimebag/Damageplan had promise, but alas was cut short.

Dimebags last recording, Rebel Meets Rebel kicks all sorts of Southern Rock ass.

I like both guitar players but as far as overall talent goes I have to give it to Zakk

Dimebag was horrible in concert, but he can do it in a studio

Although I will add, eventhough I love the sound, that Zakk kind of over uses the pinched G harmonic

As much as I love Pantera, I have to go with Zakk Wylde.

Has anyone checked out the recently released rebel meets rebel comp? (http://www.rebelmeetsrebel.com/)
Apparently it's work by both david allan coe and dimebag, didn't think it'd ever see the light of day after some lowlife scum destroyed a legend. Pantera used to be one of my favorite bands when I was in high school, RIP buddy.

going to check out that album thanks for the heads up.

*edit*

Sidenote.  I wiki'd the band.  I see its all of Pantera, minus Phil.  I dont know what he did, but I did hear that when dimebag died, they intereviewed Dimebags sister and asked if they thought Phil would show for the funeral.  She said something along the lines of 'i hope not cuz I would kill him if he did'.  I wonder what he did to make them all so mad at him.  Kinda sad.

What he did was basically leave the band without telling them, after they stuck by him during his bouts with heroin addiction and being a dick in general.

After Reinventing the Steel and its tour, Phil told the band he needed a break from touring and recording.
He then went on to spend his break forming side projects such as Down and Superjoint Ritual, recording and touring with both bands.
All the while he would not return calls from Pantera, and when he did comment on the status of the band, he would say they had to hang in there and wait for him.

After almost 3 years of inactivity waiting for Phil, Pantera broke up and formed Damageplan.
