Came across this site while doing some wikipedia surfing:
http://www.altmusictv.com/120/archive_mtvclassic.htmlIt's almost every playlist from 120 minutes during its run (the link goes to the 1986-1995 period). Personally, it was a neat trip down memory lane, because I remember exactly where I was when some of those shows aired. For example, I remember the premiere of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" because I had just started college and a group of us in my freshman dorm watched in one of the common rooms. I remember that Blur's "There's No Other Way" was one of the other videos they played during that show.
The summer before my freshman year I bussed tables at a local restaurant, and I usually worked Sundays and was off Mondays. I would come home late Sunday night and stay up to watch the show. I remember so many of those videos, many of which prompted me to go buy tapes by bands I haven't heard in forever - Ned's Atomic Dustbin, The Milltown Brothers, The 360s, World Party, Straightjacket Fits, The La's, Concrete Blonde (although I just did hear "Joey" on the radio when I was at the dentist the other day) , etc.
Good times, good times...
