damn, dude, that soccer ball trick is just evil.  like the VC sending women with grenades to blow up in your face evil.

here's where it gets worse though.  if a marine kicks it and dies, they score a small victory.  if a kid does it and dies, then they get to blame us for the death and it's a small victory.

can't.  fucking.  win.

just remember to keep your head on your shoulders over there.  we've had a spate of people losing theirs over here.

Good to hear from you man.  It seems half the ops you guys are running are announced on the news prior.  My sister heard about some and asked me if it was where you were and I was asking her 'where'd you hear about that'.  It's ridiculous the level of disclosure they have now.

Stay safe!

They have been forced to do that because of activists that love to scream about civilian casualties.    Therefore they tell everyone so the civilians will clear out, and then nothing is left but the traps.

Effing libruls.    smile

The province was so ridiculously filled with snipers I actually did the helmet on the stick trick....and it worked for our counter-snipers.

Kinda like this: (grabbed from google images)

Isn't there a danger the bullet will bounce down into that guy's crotch?

What do you think they use the FNG's for?

see?  they do keep explosive red barrels around for no reason whatsoever!

LOL that's exactly what I was thinking and about to post biggrin

Glad to hear you're doing ok.  My uncle was a lifer in the Corps.  He spent some time in-country in Nam which he never talks about.  Other than that, Dad and another uncle were Air Force and Granddad was Navy.  I have the utmost respect for what you do.

I thought I could get away with carrying a fabulous looking water bottle (PeteRock approved color)

The insurgents apparently were anti-fabulous and decided to shoot my bottle with an RPG.  The explosion should have been fatal but I invoked the power of PeteRock's fabulous force field as shown below:

Last night while I was playing Oblivion my wife walked into the living room and screamed, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!  I HOPE KATO ISN'T ONLINE!"

Not knowing what the hell she was talking about I asked what her problem was and she pointed at the screen and yelled, "RPG!"

I hope it's not too soon to find something like that a little funny.   ninja

I think it's pretty funny, but I didn't get hit with an RPG.  I would like to think, though, that if I had, I would still find it funny.

 icon_lol icon_lol  Priceless!

Never too soon for me, in fact during the firefight I was laughing at how ridiculous the situation was.

I did my best LT. Spears impression (Band of Brothers) and ran out there to pull two wounded to cover.  I got hit bad, but in hindsight all of us in my unit made it out and they laugh at me for being slow.

From Generation Kill, which ended this past Sunday on HBO. It was a great mini-series about First Marine Recon in the invasion of Iraq.

It's different... that's a Western RPG. It wasn't a Japanese or European RPG, it was a middle-eastern one. You know, where the princess dies as well as her family and friends and the oil baron wins again?

I certainly didn't want it to appear like I wasn't taking the situation clearly, but you have to admit that my wife suggesting that I can no longer play RPGs for fear of Kato finding out is a little amusing.  Only because Kato and his squad mates are okay.
