*whew!* Back from a pretty long mission.  I'm not really one to question the "wisdom" of my superiors on telling the whole damn province of an upcoming operation 2 days in advance, but I guess thats the way its done now.  So about 90% of the buildings my platoon and I were clearing out were booby-trapped and more snipers than usual yay.  On the upside, no KIA in my unit, only a bunch of wounded. 

Dogmeat is doing well, and getting kinda fat.  We have a XBOX 360 here but for some crazy reason we are not allowed to play any kind of FPS.  What a world

I can't really complain about our xbox selection, since we actually have an xbox, but its mostly all the old stuff . We have (are allowed to play)  Kameo  , PGR  , King fucking Kong , Spider Man 3, and Madden 08.

On another note, I have the up-most  respect for combat medics (Corpsman or 68w). They do pretty much what a line Marine does and more.   After my combat tour is over I might even transfer over to that MOS.  Anyone in this forum do EMT or emergency medicine work? 

Oh yeah, found a booby (booty as Peterock would say) trapped soccer ball on patrol the other day.  It was an obvious trap for me to spot and I'm glad I got to it first because I could see a bored Marine walking by and try kicking it.

On a serious note, that, in my opinion, is just playing dirty.  Not to say that the enemy's war methods have been at all "fair" since the start, but booty trapping......

+1.  I check this thread all of the time hoping for news you are okay.  I have never known (and "know" is used pretty loosely here) anyone actively engaged in war, either, and I come check all the time hoping you've posted so I know you are okay.  Hang in there.

It must be terribly difficult to engage in war when both sides aren't playing by the same rules.  Snipers and booby traps worry me because if even something as seemingly innocent as a soccer ball can be life-threatening, I can only imagine the level of danger you all must be facing.
