Zoolander featured some of the most memorable cameos with appearances by Billy Zane, David Bowie and Nicole Portman. You want a film featuring the names of animals, heck this one's got ZOOlander right in it's name.

Those aren't cameo's, you're listing the cast. I was going to go with Jackie Chan in Kung Fu Panda, but it comes down to the fact that his character, while almost entirely silent, still is a cast member and not someone who's there in a cameo role. (think Bob Barker in Happy Gilmore). Often they go uncredited as they are pretty damned popular. Oh, and what's an "Antz" ... I keed, I keed.

Those aren't cameo's, you're listing the cast. Yeah, I'm trying to remember if any of them were single scene "Cameo" roles... (and of course you realize the title is ANT Z, named for Z, played by Woody Allen) edit: yes, there were a Pair from a Single Scene: Chip: You have such a big heart. That's why you're my little cuddly-widdles. Muffy: Oh, my big, strong pheronome factory. [They eskimo kiss] Z: [nauseated] Oh, brother. Suddenly, I just lost my appetite. Aykroyd and Curtin

I have to go with hentzau and his vote for Spiderman. While Pyperkub finds something to complain about in each and every round ( ), even though spiders may not be of the kingdom Animalia, Stan Lee's cameos are always entertaining. I think my favorite Stan Lee cameo is when he shows up as Hugh Heffner in Ironman.

Apollo 13
There is of course the oxygen tank explosion that is at the core of the entire story... and then we have a fun cameo:
The real James Lovell makes a cameo appearance at the end of the film, shaking Tom Hank's hand (playing James Lovell.)
Just to butress the entry, there are also a number of scenes on the ground where we have ground crew running through ways to avoid the power-outage that will occur if the flight crew start systems up in the wrong order, etc.

Event Horizon was all about the blackouts; it had both a book with Paul Anderson's pic on it (during the opening) but there was also a cameo appearance of an X-Wing fighter.

Maximum OverdriveA tongue-in-cheek Stephen King "horror" film involving strange radiation from a passing comet that causes all electrical and mechanical devices to develp self-awareness and murderous tendencies. A gang of 18-wheelers trap a group of people at a small truck stop and work with electrical appliances to kill them off (although they do take a short break to force the hostages to pump diesel when they're running low on fuel). The film has plenty of explosions as well as a willful power outage when hostages cut power to all nearby murderous electrical appliances for protection. The film includes not one, but two cameos. One is an amusing cameo by writer/director Stephen King himself. The other is by AC/DC, which happens to be Stephen King's favorite band. CameosAt the very beginning of the film Stephen King attempts to make a withdrawl from an ATM outside of a bank. He is textually abused by the ATM and cries out to his wife, "Come over here, sugar buns! This machine just called me an asshole." Later in the film there is a ferry bridge disaster scene where some people are visible on a boat in wide shots. These are actually the members of the real AC/DC. ExplosionThe main villian in the film, a semi with a goblin face on the front modeled after the Green Goblin in the Spiderman comics, meets his inevitable demise:

Brazil, in which there's an amazing explosion in a restaurant caused by a terrorist bombing. Not to mention that there's many other explosions and explosive situations featured in that film. Meanwhile the man who bumps into our ill-fated potagonist -Sam- in the Shangri-La tower is none other than director Terry Gilliam.

Heathers - cafeteria polls and the whole blowing up the school bit Veronica: We're doing a poll. This may seem like a really stupid question... J.D.: There are no stupid questions. Veronica: You inherit 5 million dollars the same day aliens land on the earth and say they're going to blow it up in 2 days. What do you do? J.D.: That's the stupidest question I've ever heard.

When you consider that cafeterias and restaurants are all about eating, the most dramatic explosions in those settings are those that will turn your stomach or completely destroy your appetite. On that note I'll have to go with Monty Python's The Meaning of Life and the scene in which Terry Jones -Mr Creosote- explodes in a restaurant as a resault of eating a 700 course meal! Rather than the flash and boom of explosives this one's all about blood, guts and partially digested food. The final shot of Mr Creosotes exposed beating heart is icing on the cake...umm... icing on the regurgitated cake.

Picture this: a diner with a man and a woman sitting down with a priest (played by Gabriel Byrne). The priest goes into the bathroom and is possessed by the devil. He strides out confidently, kisses the woman full on the lips, gropes her breasts while looking at the husband. The husband goes to stand and object and the priest walks out of the restaurant ... which then explodes.

Good Morning VietnamRobin Williams back when he was funny. While relaxing in a bar in Vietnam, radio personality Cronauer (Williams) is called outside. Shortly after exiting the bar/restaurant, it explodes, killing two soldiers and leaving Cronauer fairly shaken following the incident. Following attempted censorship of the incident, Cronauer locks himself in the radio studio to report the actual events only to result in his own suspension.

Lots of mental disorder. Don't know if their eating location counts as a Cafeteria though.

I've got to go with One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest; just too hard to top that in my books. In regards to whether the eating room was a cafeteria or not; in the confined and limited space of the mental institution prison, it was that as well as a card playing-smoking-tv viewing-fear the nurse-listen to crazy McMurphy recite the 63 world series-room. In the end that room was really just a pressure cooker to stew the tensions between McMurphy and Nurse Ratshit until they boiled over. So before I get carried away and write a PeteRock length essay ... Moliere takes this round.
