I've decided to change my last name. My mom gave me my dads last name (I dunno why) and I've lived with it for all of my life. My mom divorced my dad before I was born  I have an arabic last name that I'm not attached to at all.

I am considering Hill, a great grandmother was named Hill. Or Stadolka ((my grandmothers name.)) They were polish.

I've decided to change my last name. Advice would be welcomed.

Why not just take your Mom's last name?

Well, what's your first name?  I don't know if I'd choose Hill if it rhymed with my first name like Phil or Bill.  Or Benny.

Your last name shall be: Gamingtrend better yet, just get your social security number as your last name.

Also, since I did this when I got married a long time ago, the judge will ask why you are making the change so come up with something good. slywink

Loblaw, especially if your first name is Bob.

NOT Hill if your first name is Hank.

How about Znidarcic ? (Pronounced ZNid-ar-cheech). Croatian, IIRC.

If you go with Roman, go with "Roman". not Romane though, people will keep singing that damned jingle.

or Money. Money is awesome.

So what about your mother's maiden name?

And, as stated above, knowing your first name would help.

I believe his relationship with his mother is less than positive.

Im doing this because I am not attached to my last name and I  ran into quite a bit of last name discrimination and I wondered why I was not getting calls back on my apps.

So I tried something: I submitted the exact same qualifications and info I submitted with my other apps, only I named myself David Marshall Hill instead of the arabic last name I have now. I submitted the exact same apps with my real name the day before or the day after.

I actually got calls back on the apps where I changed my name. I got none on my apps with my real name.

If you have no attachment to your last name, go ahead and change it.  It sounds like it would be a positive change anyway.

I have trouble picking names for game characters, so I can only imagine how hard it would be to decide on a new last name.

Its not my business or all (not trying to be an ass but still) I know that you want peoples input on your choosing your last name, but why ask an online community.  You will ultimately have to make the decision and you will have to live with it.

honestly tho, its your choice.  good luck

This is Drazzil we are talking about. When hasn't he come to us for important life decisions? Definitely go with something Roman or Italian. Hebrew would be cool too. Howabout  Inego Montoya? Then you could search for the man with 6 fingers on his right hand.
