mainly because of the actor, this looks like the "post college" years version of malcom in the middle. one where the dad loses interest in his wife, faces a death sentence disease, and becomes a drug dealer to make ends meet.
not sure i'll like it, but i've always liked bryan cranston for his comedic talents, so i'm hopeful it will be a good fill in till the writers get back to work.
it's on amc and early reports look favorable.

Hopefully AMC re-runs the premiere. After reading several excellent reviews I want to watch this one.

I saw it and it was great. Very dark humor and done very low-key.
I set my Tivo to get a season pass for it.

I had tivo'd it and finally got around to watch it. I thought it was good, especially for the first ep. I'll keep watching it to see how it goes.

I thought it was pretty good, but I'm interested to see where it goes. It alsmost seems like they were aiming for Showtime or something with the nudity (blurred) and swearing (blanked). Like a slightly darker version of Weeds, I guess, although it's harder to sympathize/identify with a meth cook.
I caught the first part of it last night before being interrupted and then found out it was also available on Comcast on-demand (in HD even) so I started that up. Maybe I just wasn't paying as much attention the first time, but it seemed there were little parts in that version that I didn't see when just watching it on AMC. Like his wife giving him a hand-job in bed after the birthday party.

although it's harder to sympathize/identify with a meth cook. this is where im at. i would never watch a show that attempts to make humorous what is probably the most debilitating / evil drug since heroin. sort of like that show about a serial killer / vigilante maybe im just a prude, but ill be damned if i add to such ratings - its one of those places i draw one of my invisible lines (sorry if i pissed on a thread)

I've liked both episodes so far. Kind of a modern day tar baby story. With extra goo.

Tonight was apparently the season finale. It was nice to finally find out what was up with the black and white intro that has been in each episode this season but of course it left enough hanging that I can't wait to see how they come back next season!

This is absolutely one of the greatest shows on tv atm. It's definetly the best 'new' show. I really hope they have a solid storyline for Season 3, since it seems pretty easy to mess things up at this point.

It won a bunch awards again...however:
I rented the first season disk 1 several weeks ago and found the first episode to be barely watchable. It was quirky, but the main characters (except for the wife) annoy me. Capt Cook's voice grates on me. The main character is completely unlikable...
Anyway, I watched most of the second episode and skimmed the 3rd. Does it get any better or is this pretty much what it's like?

I remember the first couple episodes dragging a bit, but I'm not sure how much you'll enjoy the rest of the series if you don't like any of the characters except for the wife. It's been awhile so I'm not sure if it was the pacing or the characters that made this one such a slow boiler for me, but once it took off it was quite a ride. Can't wait for the next season.

My wife and I just finished the most recent season. The show is incredible. I'd say we were hooked by midway through the first season, but to our pleasant surprise, the quality just kept improving. I have no clue where they go from here-- the end of season 3 introduced some shocking events and character development, to say the least. Can't wait for more.

I was disappointed to see but yeah, Breaking Bad is one of the best television shows ever put on the air. AMC just knocks 'em out of the park with every effort, it seems. I can't wait to see The Walking Dead. p.s. If you find the show barely watchable, then I would suggest not watching it. i can't imagine that trying to convince someone that something they apparently dislike so much that they're wrong will prove successful. Just understand that many, many, many people feel the exact opposite as you.
