I enjoyed the show, but glad its coming to an end. I am not expecting a happy ending. The only way to end it right is for everyone to die.

Yup, brilliant. Everybody got what they deserved, and not in an easily predictable way. Walt redeemed himself and died on his own terms, just as Heisenberg lived. Very satisfying.

Memo to the sopranos writers..... THAT is how you end a series!

Just awesome. I withdraw all of my earlier sentiments about wishing the show ended at the end of season 4.

She ordered the death of that previous meth crew before the nazis took over, but didn't want to look at all the dead bodies. She also told Todd to kill Walt. I have no sympathy for her.

My only problem with the finale was her final phone call with Walt. I felt like that was thrown in to explain to the audience what happened to her for those that missed the whole ricin in the sugar scene.

Well, I think they had to show that to prove she did drink the ricin. Otherwise there would have been the question of whether or not she actually consumed it.

A friend mentioned that Walt should have shot her in the face since she always said she doesn't want to be killed that way.

I think that would have been better.

Very satisfying. Some TV pundits wanted a bit more closure on Walt's family and the DEA's investigation but to me it's a perfect bookend to the very first episode of the series.

I kept thinking the final scene - camera movement wise - reminded me of another series. Now I remember ... I think the last scene of The Walking Dead's first episode ends with a catchy song, and the camera gradually zooming out/slowly spinning from a close up of the National Guard tank in the city to show it surrounded by hordes of zombies.

I was thinking of the first and last scenes from Lost. Same overhead shot of Jack's face while he is on his back.

I think it's better we don't know. This show has always been seen through the prism of Walt's perspective. That's why to me it was so gut-wrenching to see him watch his baby daughter sleeping and spying on Walt Jr through the window. He knew it was the last time he'd see them, and I as a viewer knew it was probably the last time I'd see them as well. We began this journey with Walt, and we ended it with him. As it should be.

Yeah, I'm perfectly happy with the way it concluded the story.  It wrapped up everything that needed to have a conclusion and left open for interpretation everything that would go on after the story finished and they were removed from Walt's world.

Walt was always the smartest character on BB.  But he often let his ego (Heisenberg) supersede that intelligence to the detriment of his plans.  Last night I think we finally saw Heisenberg and Walter fused into one entity...and just how powerful that entity could have been had he learned how to do so earlier.

agreed on all counts.  if they had swapped over to the DEA, whom we really had no main character there to have an interest in, would have cheapened the ending in my eyes.  I didn't need to see the bodies and Marie's reaction.

I loved the scene with Walt and Skylar.  that moment when he finally tells her the truth of his motivations.  I really hope the Emmy's honors them again next time.

I really didn't like that they decided to brutally torture Jessie before ending the series. I mean, the guy has taken a beating throughout the show, but never outright tortured (physically and mentally - his beatings and the murdering of his ex in front of him). AND enslaved. I thought that was a pretty classless route to go with a character we care for. It really sours my feelings on the entire show because it didn't need to happen, it didn't add any additional gravity to the already dire situation. It was fan service in the worst way, as far as I'm concerned.

I also didn't care for the ending aside from the fact that it tied things up. I suppose Walter and Jessie felt even, since Jessie was responsible for Hank being killed and Walter for him being tortured and his ex-girlfriend being murdered. So there was no reason for either one to kill the other.

Ah well. Brilliant show but like most shows of its caliber, the last few seasons fell off. Actually... it was mainly part one of the final season that disappointed, part two was bad finally being broken.

This is the first time I've heard anybody say that the last seasons of Breaking Bad fell off.  It was pretty much universally agreed that the last two seasons turned it up to 11.

I thought the first half of season 5 was less interesting than the rest of the show, but season 4 was tremendous (my favorite season) and the 2nd half of season 5 (or season 6, whatever they are calling the last 8 eps) was awesome, and I absolutely loved the ending. Maybe the best ending a show ever had.

I saw an excerpt from an interview with Vince Gillian where he refers to Jesse as a proxy for Walt's soul.  It gives an interesting flavor to the dynamic between them.
