In a word it's crappy.   I'm going to pick out the things that made me roll my eyes.  That had to make the girl a hot vampire chick that takes his syrum.  Get the fuck out of here.  Next, Sticky Fingazz CANNOT carry this series.  He is not a action star and looks very stiff in his fight scenes.  Back to hot vampire chick. Desperate attempt  to grab the adolescent males. Just too many other plot holes to mention

The show is going to be a early cancellation.

It's a stupid television show.

And did I see right? Blade stabbed one of the "main" vampire characters in the leg with a silver stake, and she didn't ash away? Way to fuck up your own vampire logic for the sake of a plot point and to keep a non-red shirt vampire.

There's only one way to save this show: late night lady vampire softcore.

I sat through 15 minutes before getting a bit bored with it. I'll wind up finishing it this weekend, when I have nothing better to do. I'm going to give it about 5 episodes before I make a decision on it, but the opener, what I have seen thus far, wasn't promising.

I watched Blade last night and found it entertaining for the most part. The action scenes were well done and the story interesting enough, but not really compelling. They need to add some deeper character development and it could be so much better. As it is, everyone seems fairly one-dimensional with the exception of the main female, but I found her acting to be the weakest.

I didn't really mind Sticky in the role, but he didn't say a whole lot.  Maybe it was better that way...

I'll keep watching it for a few weeks to see where the show goes. If they can improve on story and character, it could turn out to be a good series.

Not a plot hole per se.   In the first Blade he spiked Quinn twice and nailed him to the wall.

Yep, pretty well established that stakes through the heart or head will do it.

I swear there is a series on one of the premium cable channels with this very premise.  I can't remember what it's called but I've seen it while flipping through the channels on the weekends.

I'll look into it.  Sadly, and I know I am opening myself to huge ridicule here, but the only person I recognized was Evan Stone.

I'm going to see if I can't figure out what it is...

edit:  Seems I must have been thinking of the movie "Haunting Desires."  I must have assumed it was a series because it was on an awful lot.

I haven't watched it, and didn't really plan to, but now they put the first episode up as a free download on iTunes.  I might watch that.

I downloaded the pilot. I watched 10 minutes. It was free from iTunes.

I want my bandwidth back.

I was hoping the second episode would improve from the premiere, but I only made it halfway before I turned it off from boredom.  I started watching The Dead Zone instead which was about a trillion times better.

I got through it all this morning, after turning it off about 10 minutes in last night. I love the vamp/sister character, not only is she hot, but she's hot! I can't get past the fellow playing Blade, though. He's trying so hard to channel the spirit of Wesley Snipes, but falls flat on each and every attempt. I realize Blade is an established character, thanks to the movies, but try injecting a little bit of yourself in the character for once, it might work.

That's my only problem with the series too (barring the expected schlock of a TV series).  The main actor is trying so hard to be Wesley Snipes, that he's not being Blade.

He even tries mimicing Snipes' lip twitches, but he ain't got the lips for it.
