Billy Mitchell must be pissed. The certified "Video Game Player of the [20th] Century" has lost the Donkey Kong world record -- again  -- to longtime rival Steve Wiebe. Wiebe nudged Billy's July 31 record of 1,062,800 points with a masterful 1,064,500-point effort, achieved on August 20 and confirmed today by score authority Twin Galaxies. The two rivals memorably starred in the 2007 documentary The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters.

Hank Chien, who ever so briefly enjoyed the limelight, falls to third on the all-time leaderboard.

I'm sure Billy's got a video tape of a higher score stashed somewhere.

King of Kong is one of my favorite movies.   If you haven't seen it, give it a viewing.  I believe it is available for instant viewing on netflix.

I think he'll reclaim the crown again. When Mitchell made the 1,062,800 score, he stopped once he passed Hank Chien's score of 1,061,700. Maybe he intentionally only play just enough to get a new world record so that he can keep retaking the crown.

The final times for Mitchellís DK and DK Jr. games were 2hrs 42 and 3hrs 58 minutes, respectively. Asked why he stopped as soon as he had slipped past Hank Chienís previous world record of 1,061,700, Mitchell adds: ďSome say Iím being cocky. Some say Iím being lazy. I say, Iím being Billy Mitchell."

God, do I loathe Billy Mitchell and hope and pray for his failure at all things in life. So weird, as I don't even really know the guy, nor does anything he do impact me. It's just the way he acts, I despise him.

Mitchell is such an amazing villain.  Any actor or pro wrestler trying to be the bad guy should study this dude!

Makes me want to watch this movie again. Who knew a documentary about a video game champ could be so interesting.

And yeah, Mitchell is a douche-waffle.

Billy is a douche. So are his little followers - such pathetic little hanger's'on they came across as being.

It's awful small. I guess if it was the size of his ego it would fill the airport.
