He can't. If he did, his crazy mother in law is liable to drive the family car into the Romulan Star Empire.

I am not sure what old RPG this map comes but it clearly is not cannonical (Well with what we have after all the series) and the scale and distances are completely wrong.

Is the Breen homeworld called Breen?

Ah wait...look up and left of the Cardassia area...says REEN there.. I bet thats Breen space. Can see a smidge of color so it must be off map a little to the left.

No kidding, DS9 is further away from Bajor on that map than Cardassia is. That's all kinds of screwed up. Still, nifty map regardless.

Huh? The DS9 icon is right on top of the Bajor icon.

This will probably reaffirm what an idiot I am, but where was Janeway's ship (the one with Seven on it) on this map, during her adventures?  Was that on this map, or in a different dimension, or different galaxy, or what?

It was in the Delta Quadrant, which according to this map, would actually be about...oh one map over (yeah...this map sucks for scale). In actuality the majority of the Federation is in the Alpha Quadrant (and most of Star Trek takes place in the Alpha Quadrant). The Klingon empire is actually (at least the core worlds and most of the empire) in the Beta Quadrant, as is the majority of the Romulan Empire. Voyager was 70,000 light years from Earth at the start of that series, so by the scale of this incorrect map, it would be roughly 70 of the size of these maps away-the actual length and breadth of all the dominant powers in that quadrant of the galaxy should be much greater however-so I am not sure how the scale would apply properly. In terms of where...uh look at the top left quadrant of the map, pretend that there is another bunch of panels-and go straight up and away smile This is all in one galaxy btw Lockdown-our own Milky way-there has been no cannonical trips beyond the galaxy (at least by "conventional" means). This map also appears to be missing the Dominion, several other minor races, and has the Ferengi Alliance with only a handful of worlds-thats not correct. Still, its a lot of fun to look at!  nod

According to a friend, there is a mark on this map that shows where Voyager vanished. But yeah, the Delta Quadrant just isn't on this map.

Very cool find. Made me feel like a true Star Trek geek again. biggrin

Ferengi culture is centered on absolute and unbridled capitalism; virtually the only regulations that exist are ones designed to forbid entities like labor unions from imposing any regulations.  It would make sense to me if the central bureaucracy of the Ferengi Commerce Authority only consisted of a few planets, with the rest of the "Alliance" consisting entirely of privately and corporately-owned worlds.

I know all of that, and I am sure it makes perfect sense, but in official sourcebooks the Ferengi Alliance is shown as much, much larger than the handful of planets that that map shows.

The Dominion isn't on the map because they are i9n the Gamma Quadrant. The wormhole links Alpha and Gamma which is very far away.

Dude....given the timeline of the map (Voyager being shown as missing) The Dominion already has a foothold in the Alpha Quadrant and should be shown-at one point they had territory stretching to the very edge of the beta quadrant.

Oops, you're right, I was reading "Prophet's Landing" as Bajor, didn't see the caption to the left of DS9. Still seems way too close to Cardassia, especially given how they kept going on about Cardassia being so deep in Dominion space during the 7th season, but yet they had possession of DS9.
