The first thing that came to mind was the old Batman theme song. I don't know why, as I never saw the show on TV before, but it's in my mind somehow.

On another note - all the 80s and 90s cartoons had rockin' themes to them. I just can't pick out one.

Gilligans Island.

It's interchangeable with "Amazing Grace". Go ahead, sing the Gilligan lyrics to the Amazing Grace tune, and vice versa.

How many theme songs can do that?

OK, that's a good one. You can't set it to "Amazing Grace" though. I'm sticking with Gilligan.

Every time I see one of these threads, you all keep getting it wrong.

The obvious answer is, of course, DOCTOR WHO. Not only was it a landmark creation in the early days of Electronic Music, it inspired Pink Floyd (Roger Waters) to create "One of These Days". Also what other theme song has lasted for over *40* years in various iterations and inspired a fan web site with hundreds of fan made interpretations of the song? (WhoMix) The original version is still a haunting mind trip of a theme song.
