Which captain of sci-fi is the best?  Kirk?  Picard?  Adama?  Mal?

I was always a Picard man, but I'm starting to lean toward Adama.

CAPTAIN FUTURE rules!

I probably shouldnt watch them again though,as it probably sucks now! But way back when I was a kid, I bought a belt with a buckle that had an F in it, and said it was because I was captain FUTURE!...wait, that was last year...

Kirk was an admiral at one time, guess he doesn't count either right?  In fact wasn't he an admiral in 'everyone's' fav movie with him?  I think anyone who captains a ship can count here, not just the rank.  smart-ass

come to think of it, I think that Picard may be the only Star Trek captain that they never mention becoming more than captain.  Admiral Kirk, Admiral Janeway, Admiral Archer, whatever Sisko... unless it was mentioned in All Good Things.

Solo was more of a privateer than a real "captain"/leader of men in my opinion.  In Return of the Jedi, he did become a leader of men, but as a general.

If the decision is based solely on who would you want to be your captain as you prepare for battle, I would change my answer from Mal to Picard.  Even though he lost his share of red shirts, he appeared to make well considered decisions as opposed to being a cowboy.

For those of you who never read an Honor Harrington book you should.  There is no captain listed that holds a candle to her in terms of being a real ship captain.  I never have figured out how Weber captured the essence of a great ship captain so well never having served on a ship but he did.

I'm going with Jet Black. But I'd rather post an inappropriate pic of Faye Valentine.

Sadly, an especially skanky porn ho has apparently taken that name for herself. She looks nothing like the real FV. I looked at a lot of pictures to be sure.
