Pretty excited that this is back - although it's been another super long break since the last batch of episodes. The first half of the season was really good, and I'm pretty excited about this season. Especially after reading my DVR's description of this episode: I'm hesitant to read even the slightest bit of speculation at this point - I want to be completely surprised by the rest of the season. The huge ending of the last episode has me PUMPED!

haven't they supposed to have revelaed that a bunch of times already? I bet they don't actually point it out, but make it something mentioned off hand that you'll have to figure out on your own.

So does the sci fi channel show full episodes of the current run on their website? I see full episodes but not a complete listing.
I'm all caught up on all episodes (via DVD) and would love to see the current ones as my favorite tv show ever comes to an end.
Anyone know?

I caught most of the 4.0 episodes at scifi.com. They usually were available a couple of days after initially airing and they'd keep the most recent 2 or 3 available.

I think SciFi is running Season 4 all day today before the new episodes start.

I think it's true man, and I, like many, suspected that. I like what they're doing with this. So far, hopefully they can keep it up. They answer some questions, payoff some cryptic things before, but those pose a lot more questions too, and provide hints at even bigger things including the goals of this Cylon plan. Spoiler for Hiden: Dee! No! First Cally, now Dee? Just kill off all the cute girls on BSG why don't you! Hell, they already killed a Boomer, but thankfully they just spawned two more. Starbuck as brash as ever, she really should tell someone, like now. I like how Leoben was as fooled and shocked as the rest of them. It's nice to see that smug bastard just as shocked as the rest. I liked how they showed everyone falling apart. Towards the end Adama was bringing things back together, but no doubt the next few episodes will be them figuring out what to do. The Cabil's Cylons are still chasing them, so we'll still see some more space battles. And as everyone's been talking about. Ellen would actually make a great 5th Cylon. The question is, has she known all along? She is a good actress and I would like to see her in the same role, but changed a bit. I like the new setup, they've all realized this "all of this has happened before, all of this will happen again" was more than just a saying. Something is driving them towards this same pattern of creating robots, robots rebelling and destroying civilization. As the dialog at the end hints at, they need to find a way to put a stop to it so everyone can live their lives. And I'm still wondering about that 4 hanger bay Battlestar we saw way back in the previews for Season 4 along with the other battlestars shown. Somehow they're going to get more battlestars and I hope that means one gigantic space battle to end the series.

I'm surprised they managed to wait 14 minutes before their first use of "frak", but then they made up for it throughout the rest of the episode. That has to be the most overused word in the series. It's an interesting psychological dilemma in regards to holding up your hopes for "Earth" instead of just being happy find a habitable planet to live on. So they can't live here. The priests were wrong. Move on. All this advanced technology and they can't provide Gaeta with anything but a metal peg leg?

Baltar's Cylon Detector wasn't a scam. It did show Boomer as a Cylon.

I suspect Baltar's scanner only detects current model cylons, and even badly at that. He wasn't freaking out enough to have known that the others were cylons.
They didn't have the technology to cure cancer. I guess the BSG universe developed their tech in odd ways, but that's how things go. All tech doesn't just develop equally at the same time. You'd be amazed if you read up on the history of technological advancement and how certain events led to technologies being produced.

first sentence buddy. read again. the whole point is moot anyways. they didnt write the last cylons til season 3. the cylon detector was season 1. so even though they tested ellen it wouldn't have mattered.

I'm not expecting them to have a cure for cancer. It seems to me that the technology for space travel, building ships and the electronics involved would complement the technology for limb replacement. At least more than a metal peg.

Maybe they did, but since Galactica was about to be decomissioned prior to the Cylon attack, perhaps all of their advanced medical supplies were already off-ship.

Wow. Wow.
Just wow.
One of the most impressive episodes of the series.
I think they took it in the best direction possible. Everything (except one last thing) felt logical and right. (Sorry, Starbuck should be the final cylon after all that build-up). It's amazing how an episode with ZERO action sequences can become one of the most intense episodes of anything I've ever watched. The president getting off the raptor and being... speechless, then burning the bible; The absolute pain of coming to a destroyed earth as seen through the eyes of everyone (with a huge "Frak Earth" vandalized on the wall in the Galactica). Dualla's sadness - and then getting one last taste of joy before doing herself in. The scene between Tigh and Adama. Just the utter despair of the entire episode. There does not seem to be a feeling of 'hope' left in anyone. There were so many powerful scenes throughout this episode.
And for a show that's known for being dark - that just took it to another level. The rest of the series has been cheery by comparison.
Also, "All this has happened before" takes on another meaning. In the last episode before this one Adama said "But it doesn't have to happen again" when he forged the alliance with the Cylons. Well, apparently it did happen before - since Earth was all Cylons after the cylons and humans forged a previous alliance (presumably) and blew themselves up (presumably).
Although I'm conflicted as to why they just don't travel back to Kobol or New Caprica and make one of those their home. I do realize they still have Cylons chasing them, but the planets are habitable - so they do have other places to go.

Well, they still have a large fleet of Cylon after them, and they (the cylon) know about those 2 places, so the fleet probably wants to stay hidden.

It did take the cylons a year to find them on New Caprica, and only then were they found because of the nuclear radiation eminating from the exploded ship in the atmosphere. So regardless of where they settle it will be a needle in a haystack for them to be found.

Why is that lame? They probably had the core story figured out from beginning to end, but new ideas and new storytelling opportunities presented themselves during the course of the series. Can you imagine how boring it would be to have every plot for 4 seasons figured out ahead of time? Can you imagine how weak that show would be as a result?
