The rumors are true...

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2007/05/say_it_aint_fra.html

Quote
"This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and finally, an end. Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms," Eick and Moore said in the statement. "And while we know our fans will be saddened to know the end is coming, they should brace themselves for a wild ride getting there - we're going out with a bang ."

This was confirmed like a month or so back Ron. I am still in season one watching it so I don't even know how much of a blow this will be to me yet-I guess I will find out when I finally have time to sit down and watch it.

Last month it was just Edward James Olmos and Katie Stackoff saying it at some awards show -- the producers actually denied it at the time.  I admit it is kind of nice to see it confirmed though -- I'd rather it goes out with at least a  season 3 mediocrity level versus if it were dragged out another few years.

Good because since they totally changed the story from the original show they really ran out of ideas about a season back. They could never meet anyone or anything so they really have nothing to write about except soap oper'ish love triangles.

Yay! The show either has, or is on the verge of, ruining it's welcome in this household. Here's to hoping that having an end date brings some much needed focus back to the show.

So either they push the show far farther than it was intended to be (Stargate SG-1) or end it along a specifically designed story arc (Babylon 5). I'll always take the later.

If so, I demand that it include flying motorcycles, big hair, and children who have super strength.

I still watch and love SG-1 and would continue to watch it with its present cast. Im going to miss it. Been on so long it feels like a family friend that visits each Friday.

Yeah, there is going to be a series called Caprica (or something like that) that will be a prequel to Battlestar Galactica.  I think it was announced in April.

It was announced they were developing a pilot. No guarantee that SciFi will pick it up as a series.

Caprica was never a good idea to begin with.

I wonder if this means they can give The Dresden Files some more episodes now, especially since they haven't decided whether to renew the show, and they're all out of episodes to air.
