Hmm.  I hope this doesn't come out the wrong way, but I'd probably just stick with the marriage....of course I've never had a sister.

However, if in 10 years I somehow stumbled upon knowledge that my wife was my sister, I don't know that I'd end the marriage.  Or would I?

I'm feeling confused and disturbed.

I don't understand how these two could go 14 years without every delving into each other's pasts.

"My mother's name was Thit Sohn."
"No way, my mother's name was Thit Sohn."
"I had a sister named Tep Ly back in the day."
"No way! My name was Tep Ly ... back before you and I got married and I took your name and we started getting freak-ay."
"Hot. My name's Tep Song, by the way. You've married a man named Tep Song."
"That it so wild, because that's the name of my brother. Wow, is it just me, or are you getting goose-bumpy all of the sudden? Whatever, let's make another child, mysterious-not-my-brother-but-instead-just-regular-old-stranger-that-I-fell-in-love-with."

I dunno. As phenomenally fucked up as this is, why end the marriage if they are happy as is? They never knew, the never did anythign wrong at the time-this is wierd, just saying that sounds odd.

I dont see why it should change anything. So they know they are related by blood after all these years. Big whoop.

Great points, all (except we call it "Cousinville" here, KD!)  Great pic, General.  That would be the look on my face if I found out the same thing.

However - for me - the bottom line would be Daehawk's reaction...

as long as they never take a chance on children, what's the big deal?  A shock, indeed, but if they can deal with it, and have no kids, then - life is short - go for it!

So what do you want them to do, kill their children?  Nothing's mentioned about whether their kids have any birth defects or not.  Presuming not, then eh, what's the big deal.  Remember, the entire stigma against incest is primarily cultural and religious, mainly because of the higher possibility of birth defects caused by reinforcing 'bad' chromosones.

And in this case, divorcing is kinda like closing the barn door after the horse has run away and had four kids. Tongue

Whoa, Zark, get a grip, lol!

I was just sorry to hear that they'd had children before finding out - because of the increased risk of various genetic disorders.  I didn't mean that they'd be monsters, or horribly deformed, or should be killed!  OR, that anyone should divorce or have the kids taken away  - just that the kids might end up with some problems...  And that he couple would have been able to decide about kids if they'd known before, that's all!

Sheesh!    You must have been skimming...

But I did like this one:

A few years back there was this guy that had sex with his mom that gave him up for adoption.  It was funny because the radio station got sued for contacted the mom about it.

If I remember correctly the mom found out first and just ran without saying anything. The guy finds out after trying to figure out why she just ups and leaves one.  The radio station thought it would be fun to try to get them to talk about it on the air.
